:o Hi Guys,

Stright to the point:

We submitted our application for my thai wife to the uk embassy on 30th march.

on 10th april they sent us an "visa interview slip" (arrived 20th april)

the appointment for the interview is 5th june, no time stated.

i.e thats more than 2 months after submission.

what im wondering is if this is normal procedure in all cases or does this imply that we are in for a "long" interview rather than the "short" quick few questions and visa issued?

They have not asked for any additional documents in the letter its just blank.

anybody had any similar dates latly? what were the outcomes?

Thanks for the continued support.

Ross.

Mmm Ross, I think maybe it sounds like a short interview. We applied on 3 april for s/v to the same embassy. Got a letter back on 22 april with an iv date of 22 june at 1.30pm. Sounds as though we are in for a tougher time, but don't really know. Will be interested in what other guys think.

If it were a 'short interview' then there would not be a specific date, it would be more 'come at anytime.' It probably wouldn't be nearly 2 months away, but if there are a lot of applications at the moment it could be.

The waiting list for a 'long interview' varies according to demand, it has recently been around 13 weeks, about 3 months.. However, they would have given a specific time, and usually include a form letter with a list of documents to bring.

That was the old system, anyway. Maybe things have changed with the outsourcing centre? I would suggest contacting them and clarifying things.
