PHUKET: -- The tendency of local drug dealers to source their product from a kingpin operating out of a maximum-security prison was evident again this week as Crime Suppression Division (CSD) officers in Phuket arrested two suspects found in possession of 2,336 pills of ya bah (methamphetamine) in raids north of Phuket Town on Monday.

Undercover police learned of a dealer selling ya bah in Phuket Town for 1,800 baht per 10 pills, CSD officer Seksan Komsakorn said yesterday.

“Officers set up a deal to buy 30 pills for 5,400 baht. They were told to pick up the drugs at a house in Rassada,” Lt Col Seksan explained.

Officers made the rendezvous, where they arrested Khajorn “E” Jantasri, 30.

A search of the house led to the seizure of 370 additional ya bah pills found in a plastic bottle on a desk in Mr Khajorn’s bedroom.

“We also found 700mg of ya ice [crystal methamphetamine] hidden in a water heater,” Col Seksan said.

Mr Khajorn told police that he got the drugs from a man he named only as “Mr R”, who Mr Khajorn said was an inmate at the maximum-security facility Nakhon Sri Thammarat Central Prison.

“Mr R apparently sells ya bah in bulk at 540,000 baht for 4,000 pills,” Col Seksan said.

During questioning, Mr Khajorn revealed that he had asked his friend Jamroen “Euer” Sawangwit, 28, to hold the remainder of his stash at his house, also in Rassada, police said.

“Officers searched Mr Jamroen’s house and found 1,936 pills of ya bah,” Col Seksan explained.

Both suspects were charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell, he added.

Phuket Police in August arrested two suspects who said they bought their drugs from an inmate at a prison in Nakhon Sri Thammarat (story here).

A week later, police in Krabi arrested a man who also said he sourced his drugs from an inmate at a prison in Nakhon Sri Thammarat (story here).

And they all sing like a Canary bird, when arrested

nobody in Thailand, beside politicians ever heard about Omertà, the code of silence.

if this guy would have kept him mouth he would have got away with 370 pills, now a lot more.

Som nan naa

“Mr R apparently sells ya bah in bulk at 540,000 baht for 4,000 pills,” Col Seksan said (this is equal to 135 baht per pill)

Undercover police learned of a dealer selling ya bah in Phuket Town for 1,800 baht per 10 pills.

Really, they buy in bulk for 135 per pill, and sell in 10s for 180 baht per pill?

Not much of a profit margin there considering the risks involved

Still with the small fish trying to claim they have major players.

Well same old same old thais showing no loyalty at all and as already said "singing like a canary" You play you pay however his rat mate deserves his tongue cut out ;0

from what I understand the police make them talk

The lines that crack me up are all the same "he sourced his drugs from an inmate at a prison in Nakhon Sri Thammarat". They have heard this for months,a nd no DEA visit to the prison?

Wow! Somebody owns a lot of real estate in the fourth.
