Although this is a site dedicated to Thailand I have been guilty at times of sneaking in a photo from overseas and note that others have done the same.

So that I no longer have to cheat, some photos taken in other parts of the world.

To start :

Tower Bridge in a little bit of rare London sunshine.

And to follow up :

Tartan hair at the Highland games.

On the way in Turkey.....thumbsup.gif

Aspendos was an ancient city in Pamphylia, Asia Minor, located about 40 km east of the modern city of Antalya, Turkey. It was situated on the Eurymedon River about 16 km inland from the Mediterranean Sea; it shared a border with, and was hostile to, Side.[2] According to later tradition, the city was founded around 1000 BC by Greeks who may have come from Argos.

And Manavgat, a Turkish Rivera , a lovely and cosy city near Side.

I don't normally like the black and white pictures, but the doomsday style of the planes above is just amazing!

Believe it or not, it's not the photos that are black and white . . . but the day! It was a brutal British summer day with almost no colour whatsoever.

Only the colour photo has had heavy post-processing in LR to make it look like a sunny day.

Waikiki Beach Sunset

Hawaiian+Views++003.jpg

thank you for that.

i went to honolulu and waikiki beach over 30 times as a child with my parents for school holidays as we had access to a condo there.

I spent the years from 3 to about 15, playing and catching crabs on that breakwater, visiting the aquarium and zoo across the road. I have some of my best childhood memories there.

its been about 30 years, but what memories this shot brings back.

You are very welcome. We moved to Hawaii when I was a teenager and my parents still live there. This image was taken a couple years ago on a visit to my parents who are both 90 but not doing well. We lived in Kailua and I went to high school and university in Hawaii.

You really do have the hardest life.

I sent a link to your Blog to an old friend who's lived in Thailand some 25 years, with varying success. I said, look at this guy, this is how it should have turned out for us both . . . Where did we go wrong?

I am afraid I don’t have a good answer as to why things I find so easy, seem to be less so for others. Perhaps it was the time when I moved here in the mid 70s or my age at that time. I have always felt comfortable here but can’t say why, for sure.

Sorry no, but I see your reasoning... the writing on the chemist sign, try again.

The dress of the lady under that sign may give you a clue.

Oh Jimmy, West and Mid-Wales and the South West of England are still the most wonderful places on this planet.

Don't leave it too long, I miss it everyday.

Goshawk: You always have birds in your pictures. :)

These are from a best train trip ever. Ecuador 1999. Not much of a pictures, but the memories..

I'm thinking of asking my father to scan my old pictures, which might still be in my homehome, once again.

At the time I scanned these images with company scanner, the quality was far from perfect in todays standars.
