"Police officers were unable to determine the cause of death"

Really???? Has anyone stopped to consider that it is not the job of the police to determine the cause of death. Police are not trained in this field. Even if a person is laying there with his/her throat slashed and the obvious cause may be there. police still cannot determine a cause of death or if the person is in fact deceased.

A person has been found dead, it should be treated as "crime scene" until proven otherwise. Detectives can take all measures to record any evidence at the scene & the "Police" forensic department can then take over!!

And NOT show a photo of a dead person..................sad.png These photos really piss me off. coffee1.gif

In the Thai version, she is an employee of the hotel, working as a receptionist/greeter and she died in the employee's quarters of the hotel. The Thai version emphasises she was not wearing anythiing on her bottom half (not sure what the journalist is getting at - creating scandal or titillation?). They also state that the sleeping pills are available by prescription only.

Did you read the second paragraph of the OP?

If the prescribing doctor or the hospital pharmacy made an error we'll never hear about it.

Very attractive lady on facebook. Appears she was more on the Thai side than the American tho, resides in Thailand and only holds U.S citizenship probably by decent from her father the same as my son.

Drink your coffee chooka. This is the common way for saying this poor young lady's death was not obvious such as gun shot, stabbing. or decapitation. It may be overdose but the case is still open to determine if there was foul play. And, actually police have people who are experts in the field. Just not beat cops and local tea money collectors

agree with this. Forensics are responsible for finding out the cause of death.

And who would pay for all that? When my father died (in the UK), no police or forensics came. The doctor came, examined him and wrote a death certificate. If there's no indication of foul play, then it's not feasible to have police and forensics involved. Do you know how many people die every day? The police wouldn't have time for any policing at all if they had to attend to every death. Too many people like you don't seem to realise that most deaths don't involve any crime.

Problem with the reporting of MANY incidents in Thailand is that it is almost never complete (WE don't have ALL the details)....and when it is done in English Its NEVER complete and there generally is never a follow-up....

If she was sent to the forensics department for further evaluation ....then probably there are circumstances that we are not aware of AND was not reported.

Any death is a sad occurrence (And Mr. Daveyjones ...my condolences on your father)....as was this young ladies death.......

But it seems in Forums like this all the experts come out with their misinformed opinions....Why not be thank-full the BIB's are exploring further (ie doing their job

other than standing on the street to collect for some made up violation so they can get money for lunch)

They Should treat all deaths as suspicious until it is clear that it was not foul play. they should also prevent crucial forensic evidences from being compromised by keeping everybody away from the crime scene, instead of inviting the local media circus in to pollute it.

I have noticed many times that the police are not very good at preserving the death scene---- in this instance it says she died in bed yet in the other photo she is a long way from the bed. RIP poor girl

She was very beautiful poor thing, however I am not entirely certain what page you were looking at, but she was clearly educated in the US and has a town in arizona as her residence. Not to mention almost all of the photos of her available are taken in the states.

why make stuff up?

and for those wondering, i looked her up because i suspected i had recently met her in bangkok.

thankfully (for the woman i met) it was not her

I am the brother, she had only been living in Thailand for one year, she grew up in the U.S. from what I understand she went out with a couple who was staying at the hotel and had a few drinks, which is unusual since alcohol makes her sick. If that couple is out there or knows them I would really like to speak to them, we still don't know how she died and have not been allowed to see her. There are still lots of unanswered questions.
