visiting professor jobs

Featured Replies

Hi, is it easy to get a visiting professor position in thailand? I don't need that much money, but wouldn't want to work more that 30 hours a week. I have a Phd and have taught at several top american business schools.

Any suggestions would be great.

thanks,

John

Many universities in Thailand have business schools that you can apply to for employment. A Phd in the appropriate fields (assuming the Phd is from a recognized institution) is adequate qualification. Assumption University, Mahidol University, Bangkok University, etc in Bangkok all use adjunct professors for undergraduate and graduate levels on a semester by semester basis.

Gordon70,

If business is your discipline, you should be able to find MBA courses at most reputable Thai universities--research Executive MBA programs taught in English. If you have global business experience, your chances are even better. The pay most often depends upon your academic standing and experience, but US$50-100/classroom hour is not unusual for an assistant- to associate-level adjunct/visiting professor with a terminal degree.
