BANGKOK, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul said Cambodia has expressed support for the country's elected government, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

Surapong told journalists Wednesday his Cambodian counterpart Hor Namhong had sent a letter to the Thai government affirming Phnom Penh's stance on backing the elected Thai administration.

Top envoys of several countries who attended a briefing on Tuesday did not express any concern regarding the ongoing anti-government demonstrations in the country, the minister said.

Surapong said 23 countries have advised their citizens to avoid protest locations while in Thailand.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is filing civil lawsuits against demonstrators who intruded into the ministry's compound earlier this week.
