Looking for fresh cooked beans not tofu and not "baked beans" from a can. Is there anywhere that serves such in Chiang Mai? Many thanks!

El Diablo has black beans.

There is a Chinese vegetarian buffet in the soi right before the Empress Hotel. You can see the yellow and red sign on Chang Klan road. They have cooked beans pretty often, but they change the dishes all the time, so you can never be sure what will be offered.

You can buy various kinds of beans in places like Yok and Rimping. They ain't that hard to cook yourself. A slow cooker is great for that - no fancy kitchen required.

Rimping in Promenada sell a nice Mexican bean salad with onion and bell pepper in olive oil , about 70 baht.
