Congratulations on your new Ford Wildtrack 3.2L! thumbsup.gif

Sakon Nakhon .....??? Some mgr. up there must have some mighty big 'pull'! clap2.gif

If your 'aimless' drive takes you up to Chiang Khan, Loei, my treat to lunch!

Did you participate in the 'Ford Wildtrack 3.2L' lottery and, (though I know it doesn't matter to you - but I'm curious), is this pickup the exact model you ordered?

Keep us posted on your initial driving experiences with your new truck? coffee1.gif

I've always kept an eye on Ford dealers when I drove past, Udon Thani's had nothing, same in Nong Khai

Driving down to Pattaya/Bangkok never saw much around.

This dealer in Sahkon has a big new shop and lots of stock always sitting outside, must know the right people somewhere

This truck is exactly what I wanted, although I would have taken another color, I'm not to fussy that way

It's nice to have something that's not white/black/sliver

I get new pickup at work every job and they all kind of blend together

On the 120km drive home I was really taken with it. The sound struck me right away, more of a big truck sound rather than the 4 cylinder clatter.

Smoother shifting than some 6 speed auto cars I've driven

I think I'll keep it wub.png

Sounds like you lucked out and got a canceled order - fingers crossed you don't need to rely on aftersales service.

Congratulations.

I have the poor man's Wildtrack, 2.2 2WD, absolute love it same colors as yours.

7000 km on the clock, average speed 22 km/h, average fuel consumption: 12.2 lit/100 km.

As you can see, mostly city driving so no need for 3.2L engine, use it for driving our boy to/from school every weekday and shopping.

We will go to Koh Chang in it over the Christmas holidays and Expo car/bike show next weekend.

That's got to be the best marketing in the world.

Guy spends a ton of money on a product and tells the world he "won the lottery".

Kudos to Ford.

Nothing wrong with that, BTW and I hope you enjoy the heck out of your truck! I like Ford trucks. Always have.

Totally with you on this. Apart from looking at the Suzuki swift, I really can't bring myself to put my money on anything new that isn't a Ford here. It seems the Thais are starting to realise that they're the best available too, as Udon is rammed with new Fords.

So did you pay the extra 80,000 baht to steal someone's place? It doesn't make sense that no other dealer in Thailand can get access to one and you get one within a month in butt <deleted> nowhere Isaan…I would have thought a Bangkok or Pattaya dealer would have priority over an Isaan dealer.

Why would the dregs of Western society have priority over the dregs of Thai society?

Do cars cost more in Pattaya?

If you want to jump the queue, yes.

Makes perfect sense if it's manufactured scarcity.

City dealers can probably sell all they can get at list plus 80K.

Little shops in Fish Shack, Outer Slobovia may not be able to. They both get an allocation based on some nebulous factors and make the best of their allocated units.

List price, I paid 1,099,000 baht as per the dealer's broacher

If they wanted a backhander to get one I'd walk away.

As I'm working a 28 day away and 9 day home schedule I thought I'd put my name in line and see what happened, I was willing to wait several months.

That's why I termed it winning the lottery, I've read ALL the threads about the wildtracks and waited for a year before trying myself.

As for Issan dealer, why not? Trucks are the big seller up north and for some unknown reason this guy has a couple of row's 2.2's in stock which you don't see anywhere else in this country, and he just about always has a 3.2 sitting front and center waiting for the buyer to pick it up.

That's why I gave him a go.

I would imagine that isaan would have priority over other areas due to the larger market.

Sounds like you lucked out and got a canceled order - fingers crossed you don't need to rely on aftersales service.

If someone else orderded exactly what I wanted and canceled out I'll have to thank them very much.

As for how that would affect aftersales service you'll have to explain that to me

Don't worry about the after sales service as something that does not exist cannot be affected.

They don't have a Ford dealership, so of course, no Rangers! rolleyes.gif

Ford trucks in Sakon Nakon all 2.2L, There's another row on the other side of the building.

I asked if he can get more 3.2L, he smiled and said no problem.

FYI

Thanx for the tip!

In the event this forum goes 'quiet' for awhile, I bet it will be because everybody 'ran' over to Sakon Nakon - your fair city - to get one of those available 3.2Ls!
