2010 POLITICAL VIOLENCE
DSI to oppose bail for Abhisit : Democrats

The Nation

Bangkok;_ -- The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is planning to object to a bail request by former opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva when he stands trial tomorrow on murder charges over the 2010 political rallies, Democrat Party spokesman Chavanond Intarakomalyasut said yesterday.

Chavanond said former PM's secretary general Suporn Attawong and the DSI were planning to challenge Abhisit's bail request, which he said was political harassment.

"Their motive is to leave Abhisit unqualified as an MP candidate. But our party is confident of his innocence and will post bail with assets since he no longer has an MP's immunity," Chavanond said.

Yingluck must be shitting bricks, she will face exactly the same premeditated murder charges in a personal capacity for her authorizing and ordering snipers to execute innocent students hiding at Ram Uni last week. Talk about digging a deeper hole for herself.

Really? Maybe you should read Nick's report before you make spurious accusations: http://asiapacific.anu.edu.au/newmandala/2013/12/10/ramkhamhaeng-a-view-from-inside-the-stadium/ If Yingluck is charged for this, surely Suthep should be charged for ordering his 'thugs' to attack the red shirts? Both charges equally (in)valid.

Why would they do this? It will only exacerbate tensions rather than lessen them. This is a silly move and will backfire. Thailand needs a period of rest and recovery, not more people in the streets.

Tit for tat.

Ask him to surrender his passport would be right but for the court to deny him bail is wrong.

It's just another democrat party rumour - selected to elicit sympathy as PTP is most likely going to petition the EC to dissolve the democrat party based on their support for an anti-democratic protest.

I have pics of some tradesmen carrying smashed chunks of pink porcelain from her residence, having trouble uploading them for some reason.

He will get bail and I am sure the courts will laugh at the DSI's remand application. If they really had concerns about him being a flight risk or concerns he won't attend court then they should have applied for a remand when they arrested him and laid the charges.

unlike the dsi the courts require evidence before they will make charges that are simply biased to suit the boss. Maybe if there was any real evidence other than the "they were shot with a calibre used by the army" it might have more credence but as the dsi were simply doing their masters bidding they used whatever lies they could. When they can actually link up the evidence so they can match bullets to guns then to the shooters as well as have correlation of direct orders to shoot protesters they can do something but until then it remains impossible to charge anyone.

This is a case of the dsi shitting thermselves as they know they will be screwed if the ptp do not gain majority to save their <deleted> in the election, would be funny to see these crettins charged and doing time

Not exactly an unbiased reporter you mentioned there . . .

And if the courts rule to dissolve PTP based on their illegal actions, then we could have all new parties fighting the elections wink.png

Same same but different!

What Democrat party support??

What "snipers"? Coroners report clearly stated the victims were shot from street level and not from a high place. Wish people would quit spreading rumors and non truths.

O yeah Nick Nostitz .... the shining beacon of impartial reporting

Nick Nostitz - a journalist who actually has the guts to go the places where the news is happening and reports it with photographic evidence.

Of course this often completely contradicts the yellow/fascist propaganda from the usual desktop warriors.

Snipers? Where were the snipers?

Coroners reported all people dead was shoot at short distance and same level, not a sniper job.

Isn't Nick, the guy the protest leader single out (by pointing from the stage), and ask the protesters to kick the shit out of him (not these exact words, but similar meaning) for working in favour of the red shirt aka Thaksin?

Yes. A supposedly "independent" reporter that slants his reporting in favor of the "red" side of things always.

Yes, that's the one. Whenever there are violent Reds, Nick is also there reporting on it. His views are always that the Reds were innocent and that anybody else is to blame for their violence.

So where is the evidence?

For that matter does the DSI really think they will succeed, I wonder did Tarit vote "no" when the decision was made to remove the red shirts from the centre of Bangkok in 2010. He knows that Abhisit did not say "shoot to Kill" the protesters

Yes of course you must have proof of that.

3 RED SHIRTS AND ONE STUDENT DIED: Surely Yingluck ordered that for her brother's benefit. She just happened to hire color-blind snipers, but it was all obviously part of a great and subtle plan to bring her brother back.

As many have pointed, Nick is rather close to the Red Shirt movement, but that does not make his account any less valid. To the critics, which parts or pictures exactly look falsified to you? There's also many other testimonies that are consistent with his.

I wasn't at Rajamangla, but I was at Rajaprasong in 2010 (duh, I live there) and I know first-hand that Nick's account at the time was fair and accurate, yet he's been the target of a hate campaign for that.

Of course since he was on the red side of the fence his account presents only one part of the picture. . This report should be balance against those from journalists who were inside the university with the students. Not a lot of those are forthcoming (maybe because students were beating up journos?)
