Just curious......

We have 5 rai of mangoes and water them when needed from the klongs on the property. The water comes to us from the River Noi which is about 800 meters away from us. It is pumped into a series of canals and supplies many fruit farms and rice fields in our district.

Usually we have good water supplies 10 /11 months of the year, it dries up end April for a few days then flows again. Never really a problem.

This year our water stopped flowing 2 weeks ago and all the klongs on the property are dry, and the system of canals feeding us and many others are empty also. Have asked around and were told that the rice farmers now get first go of the water supply and we just have to wait until their needs are done. We need water now as the fruit is forming and we should be irrigating weekly for the next 2 months.

Our River Noi is way down and on Monday I looked at the Chao Phyra River in Singburi and it looked as low as it gets in March/April.

Are any others farming finding their water in short supply? The rivers down in your area?

Would hate to think that the country is going to have a water shortage coming into the New Year.
