We have an organic farm close to Chiang Mai and make our own compost. To get the right C:N ratio we need to mix sawdust with cow manure. The manure we get from our dairy neighbors but we need some new sources for the sawdust (we use lots of the stuff)

Suggestions will be welcome and good suggestions might earn themselves some free range eggs or a couple of bags of good compost.

Thanks

How about change the title to sawdust? :)

But one of the big sawmills like Sukapan (or is it Suksawat) just off the Super would do you big bags of sawdust I should think...

The people that mill lumber make a lot of it. Try Taweepan on the road to Mae Rim and Wood World on the road to Samung just east of the canal road on the south side, this is not their factory but they can put you in touch with it (it is off the canal road farther south). Suksawat's mill is in Doi Saket but you can probably talk to one of the family in town, try for Jaruwan.

We have a lot of used substrate from our mushroom operation. It is originally made from around 85 percent sawdust and is now partly decomposed. PM me if you're interested.

Hello Jackr,

Sorry for the delay. Just came back from KL with Airasia (now everyone can wait). Took about 90 minutes for passport control at LCCT. Anyway.. can you give me more precise directions pls.

Can we visit your farm to buy eggs,if so can you give directions.

Thanks

At the moment we use the eggs mostly for breeding. Might be able to get production up when we have more ladies. We have the same problems as the mamasans on Loi Kroh. Good staff is hard to find.

Will let you know when production is up. In the meantime pls check the organic market at JJ market. I do not know if they have organic/free range eggs but if they have you can trust the quality. I visited a number of the farmers and they are doing a good job and know what organic means!!
