Is the new 145% China tariff "actually" payback for COVID? Maybe yes?
What is that? How is it calculated - and, more importantly, by WHOM? If you mean making sure our tariffs cover the "cost savings" of being able to dump toxic crap in other countries, to eliminate that perverse "comparative advantage," then I agree. If you are buying the "global warming" nonsense, then I don't. -

potatoes will not sprout
I grew potatoes successfully in Scotland for 30 years, but they always seemed to sprout better if exposed to a period cool temperatures before laying out. I suggest you put them in the bottom drawer of you refrigerator for at least a week. Do not freeze. -

And they are, right ? More have been sent back in the last 8 months than the conservatives have done in 4 years or something. The current government says that unrestricted migration cannot be supported, kind of outlined by the article - these people aren’t getting a free ride, ff - 8 quid a week pocket money (does that even buy a packet of tobacco?) or 50 quid a week to buy your own food which you heat up in a communal microwave. If your claim is accepted then you are out of that system, if you don’t qualify, you get shipped off to the detention center and out the door. The whole thing is not a government program, it was a scheme created by the conservatives to make money for their buddies, convert failed hotels in cities that no one wants to visit into bunk houses, supplying meals - someone is making a nice profit, considering the prison service only gets £21 per inmate. I’m sure there is a whole lot of truth that isn’t told. -

Since the bean counters took over and kicked out the engineers, Boeing is no longer the respected high tech aerospace company it once was. Recent 737 Max crashes and the Starliner fiasco tell a true story. I wouldn't trust any new product from that manufacturer. I'll just repeat what I said in another thread: "If it's Boeing, I ain't going..."
