Accident Death as 67-Year-Old Tractor Driver Drowns After Vehicle Plunges into Pond in Phrae
Picture courtesy of Amarin A 67-year-old man lost his life after the tractor he was operating plunged into a pond and overturned, pinning him beneath the vehicle in a fatal accident in Soi Muen district, Phrae province. At approximately 15:40 on 13 June, Pol. Lt. Col. Arun Chinthep of the Soi Muen Police Station received a report of a tractor crash in Moo 7, Rong Kat subdistrict. Emergency services, including local rescue foundations and divers from Phrae Volunteer Rescue Association and Den Chai Ruam Boon Rescue, were dispatched to the scene, along with medical staff from Soi Muen Hospital. Upon arrival, authorities found the tractor submerged at the edge of a pond approximately two metres deep. After inspection, divers located the lifeless body of Mr. Sawaeng Maenchai, 67, trapped under the right wheel of the overturned vehicle. Rescue teams had to carefully lift the tractor to retrieve the deceased’s body. According to the man who had hired Mr. Sawaeng, the victim had been contracted to plough four rai of farmland at 1,000 baht per rai. The work began at 09:00 and the employer returned home for lunch around midday. When he returned to the field at approximately 15:00, he noticed that one rai remained untouched and Mr. Sawaeng was missing. After a brief search, he spotted the tractor submerged in the pond and immediately alerted nearby villagers for help. It is believed that Mr. Sawaeng lost control of the tractor, which then veered into the water, trapping him beneath it. Mr. Sawaeng had reportedly been working for the same employer for four to five years. Authorities have launched a routine investigation into the incident, although no foul play is suspected. Donald Trump's use of English found to be at 4th grade level and below in some analyses.
Wouldn’t go comparing Hitler to any of the people representing America of late. Ok, he turned out to be a nut and I don’t advocate natzism, but he was super smart and very well read. Last US president anywhere near him was probably Carter then JFK before him, the latter being particularly brilliant. But from the 1980s-90s onwards… hmm. Trump is the icing on the cake. Compared to the above; well, one can’t really do that. Put it this way, he is akin to one of them belligerent ten-a-penny fat mouthy kids in the playground that everybody had to endure. -

90 Killed Gaza Last 48 Hours
At least 15 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire as they gathered near an aid distribution centre in central Gaza, hospitals say. Officials at al-Aqsa and al-Awda hospitals said people were shot by troops near a site run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which is backed by Israel and the US. It is inside the Israeli military's Netzarim Corridor. The Israeli military said troops fired warning shots at a group they believed posed a potential threat. An aircraft also struck one person who advanced rapidly towards them, it added. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c79e24x73xno -

Moving a family to Pattaya from Bangkok thoughts?
I only know the tourist and nightlife areas of Pattaya; used to love the place, but I’m not as impressed anymore, especially post-covid. However, I’ve never stayed for long anyway. That said, I know plenty of expats with families who live there away from the tourist spots, work, teach, run businesses etc. The people I know are very happy with the infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and other amenities. Not difficult to keep the family and kids away from the nightlife. At least they don't see it as a big problem. For retirement, I’d personally prefer somewhere in the countryside, but for a business or working life, Pattaya seems to be a serious alternative to Bangkok , more and more a great spot offering many opportunities.
