Glasses left on plane

Featured Replies

Folks,

I left my glasses on the plane & I am having real problems getting through to anyone who can help.
It was BA9 LON-BKK & I don't realise until I unpacked my hand luggage.
I rang the British Airways Exec club who gave me a number for Lost & Found at Suvarnabhumi Airport as apparently that's where anything left on a plane ends up.
The number ended up being for Air China who have their own Lost & Found.
I tried the information line & was told to contact my airline.
I got back onto the EC & left my details.

Someone then rang me to say that they could not get any reply from BA in Bangkok but that they had emailed them.
Any advice?

SJ

Little chance of ever recovering your glasses I suspect.

Claim on your travel insurance and go to opticians for replacement tomorrow.

I have a very strong prescription & I've never been able to get it filled in Thailand.

The Japanese & Germans are leaders in the kind of polishing that is needed to make my lenses & would often wait 2 weeks for them to be made.

They will be of no use whatsoever to whoever finds them & if they try them then they would be aware of how poor my eyesight is.

I must add that they are my reading glasses so I ok with day to day stuff but cannot do much reading without them

As I was reading I thought OK you now have your bins but what happened to your glasses?

I'm wondering why he was posting on here if he can't read without his glasses.

They were my standard pair that I left but still had my reading glasses which leave you with a headache after a day of constant wearing.

The terms bins is short for dustbin lids which is an old fashioned reference to glasses because they were round.

The french refer to reading glasses as half moons I believe.

I called into the BA office on the 3rd floor on 1st of Jan after a domestic flight & my glasses safe & sound
