catweazle08
so red is a symbol for financial success? and this colour symbols are originally from china? or is there another explanation? thx in advance...
Costas2008
May be it has to do because most of them are owed by Chinese/Thais and red is their traditional colour. Or another explanation is that they are owed by PTP red supporters......you know.....those poor Isaan people and they are trying to make a statement? My guess is as good as yours! wayned
The shops are decorated with red color which means "good fortune", "happiness", "wealth", and "longevity."

Heng
it seems like EVERY business is owned by Chinese people in Thailand... Thais of Indian descent own quite a bit as well. Indigenous Thais still hold a near monopoly on barber shops. I'm surprised no Thai Chinese or Indian Chinese entrepreneur has whipped up a Supercuts or Just Cuts type franchise.
