Does anybody know the difference in health benefits between yellow and white turmeric? I've tried searching but can't find anything that describes the difference. White turmeric roots are available in Tops supermarket but the yellow roots are not.

Everything you read about turmeric talks about the yellow this and yellow that. Well the turmeric I eat everyday isn't yellow. Am I missing something?

I guess nothing, as the yellow is added just for colouring, which IMO was why yellow tumeric was used anyhow?

Hmmm, I don't think that's correct at all. The yellow is not for colouring, it is "the colour". They are different roots. One is white and one is yellow.
