hi,

my wife has had 3 different operations in bkk, in pratunam clinic, all three have worked out fine and both of us were very please with the results and the prices are very very good. although my wife did complain that the doctor was a little rough on removing her staples and this was very very painful for her and she said the doctor told her to please be quiet that she would disrupt or waken the other patients in the clinic, i thought this very inconsiderate of him that is our only complaint. my wife wants an operation to her jaw line ( she is 36 ) i also would consider an op for my eyes and brows lifted ( i am 47 ) now my wife has had breast enlargement and tummy tuck but on face surgery we need to make sure we have the right surgeon as if anything goes wrong we will not be able to hide any scarring or have reverse procedure, we realise this after talking to a ladyboy here in uk who told us some of her friends had surgery done in pratunam clinic and doctor basically made a botched job , so now we are asking for good advice from any of you where to have good decent priced surgery done in or around bangkok area.

we are on budget so we are not getting this done in uk , we must find cheapest although we realise cheapest is not best , if we wanted best we could get it done in uk if we could afford it but we will be in thailand anyway in next few months .

so any advice for us please wai2.gif

You have been taking an unnecessary and ill-advised risk in having such procedures done in a clinic rather than a hospital. In the case of complications, the lack of immediate availability of hospital level emergency services (transfusion..resuscitation etc) can be fatal.

In addition, for surgery involving the jaw, need a specialist in head and neck reconstructive surgery

Suggest you try Dr. Prasert Punpromthada at Sikarin Hospital which is located not far from Suvanabhumi Airport and is reasonably priced. http://www.sikarinaesthetic.com/doctor1_en.php

If you prefer a more central location, he also works at Phayathi 2 Hospital http://www.phyathai.com/doctorsearchdetail/62875/PYT1/en

Suggest u take a look at clinics if price an issue. They're everywhere including in large shopping malls. Prices vary a lot so does quality. Some clinics are dodgy with unqualified doctors. Some have good doctors but use materials made from China to maximise profit. So many ppl r concerned with clinics. Check them out online with searches. Talk with their doctors to make sure you're comfortable. A good place that's been very popular due to customer care among other rave reviews is Ametise in Thong Lor. Look for others too to compare.

Here-

It is easy to find

The advice given by Sheryl is very sound. Undergoing surgery requiring a general anaesthetic in a "clinic" is extremely unwise but you must make the choice and you also must accept the risks.

correct link

And if what you intend to do for those "eye wrinkles" is surgery, a clinic is most definitely NOT OK.

People do die in Thailand from cosmetic procedures performed in clinics and not all that rarely.

If you just want botox, fillers or laser treatments -- which for wrinkles around the eyes is usually all you need -- that's another matter and a clinic is fine. But not for surgery.

And no, I do not have friends at or work at the hospitals named, nor any hospital in Thailand (I have however been a patient at both of them). I am trying to give you impartial advice that is safe and geared to the concerns you expressed. There are other hospitals and surgeons I would have recommended as well had you not indicated a concern to keep costs to a minimum, hence the specific ones I mentioned. Yanhee is certainly another possibility though likely to cost a bit more. Places like Bumrungrad, far more still.

ok sheryl thankyou. will take you guys advice wai.gif can i ask where is good cheap place for botox and fillers in bkk/ pattaya ? thanks

"Good" and "cheap" do not go together in this regard. As more than 90% of the cost is the drug itself (Botox/Dysport, Juvaderm etc). there is little variation in price among legitimate places using the real stuff. Anyplace offering cheaper rates is likely not using real Botox nor FDA approved fillers and should be avoided.

My current favorite for botox/fillers/laser etc is the iSky Clinic, wither Dr. Rungsima or Dr. Woraphong.
