Seeking Native English speaking teacher immediately...

Hello,

Just heard that our American colleague will leave us soon and posted this. The position is at our school, in the center of Ubon Ratchathani.

You'll teach grade five, 18 contact hours/week, plus an hour English club on Friday last period. As we haven't got an EP, you'll teach one class two hours/week.

School will pay for visa and work permit, but not for the 90 day Non B visa you'll have to get in Savannnakhet/Laos. Starting salary will be 25,000

baht/month.Salary's negotiable, depending on your qualifications and/or working experience in Thailand.

Please no applicants from an Asian, or African country. Should you be interested, please page me and I'll forward you my e-mail address.

I'm begging the usual "what a low payed job brigade" just to keep quiet. This is a job offer and not a point of view regarding teaching English in Thailand.

I hope to see you as soon as possible in an interview, where you'll have to give a short demonstration lesson.

Can't give details if a one year contract will be available,. I'd assume it's possible if the superiors at our school are satisfied with your teaching skills.

You could theoretically start immediately, as the school year will be over at the end of March.. Please feel free to page me.Good day.-wai2.gif

P.S A degree in any field is mandatory to get you a work permit. You'll also have social security with full coverage, free lunch on campus from Monday to Friday.-wai2.gif

A heads up to potential applicants.

Be sure before you commit as the teachers license waiver is of high value and you only get 2.

If you're of the feeling that you won't stay or the school says no thanks, you are 1 TL waiver down and there's no getting it back.

I did it this time last year for 2 months and I'm kicking myself.

I'm not trying to put people off just to be aware of all the scenarios.

Good luck with filling the position.

Much better if you'll tell to the School Director that nobody is interested because of the salary let them to think until next week. smile.png ( suggestion only )

You can't change the system, as it is now. Our superiors might understand the message in a few days, as the job will also be online at ajarn.com soon.

I find your suggestion pretty cool, but now it's the school's request to find somebody who fits into our team.

I'm just doing them a favor, honestly speaking also a little selfish, as I'll eventually have to work with this teacher as well.

Will "suggest" them that their salary sucks. Our "World Class Standard School" ( think of leaving the "Cl" at class out) has just received the "King's Award."\

They're planning to let some "teachers" from an ASEAN member country go, to replace them with native English speaker in May.

That should also mean more money for foreign teachers. Hope is the last that dies.

The applicant will get a fair description of what's going on,at this particular school. -wai2.gif

Good to hear that.

Tell to the "teachers" from an ASEAN member country that there are so many school that willing to give 30,000 up....

I hope you find a suitable candidate for this position. It sounds like a reasonably good job offer. 25,000k for teaching in Ubon is actually quite good - IMO. I earn 5k less and manage to save half my salary per month :)
