Even with the EC closing many stations because of orders from the Elites, the PDRC are NOT having it all their own way even in Bangkok.

Think we can safely say that the majority of the advance voting can take place.

Reading Thai on twitter, this is the 3rd place where PRDR been confronted.

lad Prao, they want to vote. Might be suckering PRDC in here for a clear out. FOr those of a nervous disposition This is the tip of the iceberg that happens when Democracy is stolen from the population. Any historian will tell you this.

This is what happens when the police don't do their jobs.

YES!! I was actually just going to post this very photo. THIS is what needs to happen. Everyday regular people who want to VOTE need to rise up against Suthep's thugs and administer non-lethal violence. This is the only way these entitled jerks will back down.

A swift whack to the shin or a strong poke to the stomach with a piece of wood will be enough to send the hi-so madams running home, never to dare to protest again. Steel bars are, unfortunately, probably needed to fend off the "nak leng" thugs (mistakenly often called "guards")...

It's unbelievable and a real shame that police is disappeared. People are left on their own.

Is now so clear that government and protesters does not give a dime on the people, only a war for power.

I am disgusted.

People taking the law in their own hand to protect the right to choose their own government; something Suthep only want to reserves for the rich, tax payers, and Bangkokian.

You said "protesters with boards". I assume you were referring to the photo that I posted from the news thread. They aren't anti-government protesters.

No. This shouldn't be happening. The police should do their jobs. There shouldn't be civilians doing the work of the police.

If his thugs are the 300 baht/day paid guards, would you fight for 300 baht? The picture doesn't show any actual fighting, it shows angry voters with sticks. I think a lot of these protestors won't want to fight for that pittance.

Now we know the EC can't use 'worry of violence' as an excuse to cancel the election, they can clear the polling stations and let them vote.

Once you block the entry, you have done a crime. Its a shame, i guess the Dems feel only they count in this World! Arrest Suthep and all the other leaders of the Dems. Only chance! One more charge for Suthep.

I didn't see the leaders of the Democrats stopping anyone from voting? Why should they be arrested?

"I didn't see the leaders of the Democrats stopping anyone from voting? Why should they be arrested?"

Lack of political nous?

Also note that Abhisit shouted on stage: “If there is even one dead protester, don’t even hope to continue living in this land, the whole [shinawatra] clan!"

What a banana republic... Who is supposed to protect voters and make sure they exercise their right to vote?

Unbelievable.

The police are moving now on one mob.

The fascist spokesperson for PDRC is bleating on Twitter that they are being attacked. Big cheer went up all down Rama 3 area when MCOT showed the PDRC getting a kicking.

Might be a lot more of this if they not careful

It's about time. These Suthep protesters are small in number compared to the majority of Thais--even in Bangkok, one of their "bases,"--who want their right to vote. If the police will not turn back the protesters with restrained, non-lethal violence, then the ordinary citizens are going to have to. It won't take much to send the hi-so madams home crying over a hurt knee. Unfortunately, it will take a bit more with the hired thugs from the South...

You are funny .... have you been to a protest site? no exactly hi-so crowd hanging out there?

Cannot see hi-so camping in Lumpini park .. can you?

There hasn´t been law enforcement for decades. IMO, it would be better off if they disbanded the entire police force as it´s a waste of taxpayers money.

Advance polling halted amid protests

Be3nZXGCcAAHSnd-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Advance polling this morning was forced to be canceled in at least 10 districts of Bangkok after anti-government protesters held mass protest rallies at polling stations to protest.

By 8.00 a.m.,the opening time of advance polling, election officials said they still could not open their stations for voting as hundreds of protesters have occupied their polling compounds shouting for officials to cancel the polling.

Under pressure by protesters, at least 10 districts were forced to close the polling with announcement pasted in front each district office declaring the cancelation of advance polling.

District chief officer is authorized by the Election Law to cancel advance polling in case of uncontrollable situation.

Ten districts which have canceled advance polling are Bangkapi, Laksi, Bang Bon, Klong Toei, Pathuman, Don Muang, Bang Khen, Dusit, Bang Kholaem, and Yannawa.

Election Commission earlier yesterday requested the caretaker prime minister to put off the advance polling today in anticipation of strong protests and disorders. It gave the caretaker prime minister until 2 p.m. yesterday for an answer.

However its request was ignored with reply via her secretary-general that postponement of the advance polling could not help to resolve the conflict and ease the protests as anti-government protesters wanted to pressure her resignation.

Another confrontation.

PDRC have met opposition again from voters. Could be the start of something. It's on Thai TV this one and can only encourage more people to come out and fight.

The Election officials getting some flack as well from voters saying they rolled over too easy and let Suthep tickle their yellow bellies.
