TOT TV Box For 60 Baht/Month Any Good?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just got my house connected to the Internet and had an offer from the TOT guy to receive a free box to have Internet TV. That would be 60 baht.month.

Unfortunately, they" a sort of forgot" to bring the box and told me that I'd have my old phone number, which wouldn't be like a new contract. Okay, that's another issue.

Is this box any good? Any input would be greatly appreciated.-wai2.gif

For 60 baht/month its worth it. It can work in other ISPs within Thailand and can be used like satellite receiver without actual satellite connection (condo)

Yes its a good little box to play around with, have all sorts of things

installed on mine, you can also pay 290 bht pm, for a selection of

channels to watch, i also have ilikehd app installed lots of channels

in HD, 200 bht p.m.

On my bill it says the box is free as got it on a promotion, its also like

a mini pc,although slow,

regards Worgeordie

The ToT IPTV service is just great and for the price very hard to beat ..

Depends on what you want or expect.

I use mine for everything else, except watching the Thai TV channels...tongue.png

It's just a (slightly outdated) Android TV Box, like the Geniatech ATV 310 or Pivox Xios DS.

Replace the crappy Launcher, install Google Play, XBMC, Samba Server, sshdroid, Youtube, etc. and you have a nice little Mediaserver.

Same here. My missus watches shows @TV Thailand app while walking on the treadmill. I myself use xbmc to stream 720p shows while on Treadmill.

Good thing is you can still use provided login for totiptv website and watch channels on browser (Int. explorer) while you're not at home. It only requires Thailand IP so if you have vpn or vpn at house (from your modem or nas) you can watch live tv everywhere.

Hi any help in how I could replace the Launcher on the box. I would like to install XBMC on it. I do love my TOT box though. Its a great machine for the price. Shortage of it though in Chiang Mai currently.

You don't need to replace launcher to install XBMC. Just install xbmc from apk file and use Apps menu from default launcher to start xbmc.

Thank you. I have downloaded Pivos XBMC as suggested by a TV member here. Will try to install it tonight.

I bought a wireless keyboard and mouse for the box. The mouse works like a charm but keyboard doesn't seem to work. I have switched on the physical keyboard but doesn't seem to be working. Any tips or possible thing that needs to be done? in case some of you have gone through the same thing. Thanks.

generally no problems with a keyboard.

I have a LOGITECH K400 and it works great.

I don't know which cordless keyboard do you have?

Try a standard keyboard. If that works, there could be a problem with missing kernel drivers for your USB keyboard dongle.....

(For example, the K400 absolutely refuses to work with my Allwinner tablets, no chance)

You don't need to replace the launcher for XBMC, but the standard one (or 3rd party like Nova), is much better (faster) and flexible.
