Need Auto Air Conditioning Service

Featured Replies

I have an older Toyota Corona with a non-functioning a/c. I have had two shops look at it in the last year and all they do is add refrigerant. Works OK for a while and then begins to blow less cool, then just warm air. Obviously leaking, but the places that checked it could not find anything. Any reputable repair shops in South Pattaya or Jomtien recommended will be greatly appreciated.

Can't help you but an A/C place with knowledge has an electronic gadget that sniffs the faintest leak. This is what you need.

Don't know about Toyota in Patt's they used to be rubbish. But most large Toyota garage's have the full A/C checking system. Give Toyota head office in BKK a call their No: is 023861000

The car is 20 years old and I really don't want to pay dealer prices for the service. Thank anyway.

So far you have spent monies in two place's without a result maybe you should have gone to the right place that knows what their doing the first time, save's loads in the end.

As far as cost's go's today I took my Fortuner in for it's 10,000km service at my local Toyota garage including oil, oil filter, and a new A/C filter, grease prop + the usual check over of all the bit's, it was under 2000bt how can that be expensive.

It looks like the OP is after repair not top up.

I too would like to know of an air con specialist - Pattaya to Chonburi areas. Someone told me there was one on Sukhumvit near Bang Saen.....anybody know of them or what they are called?

A repair shop should not refill a leaking air con system. It is illegal to do so.

Thanks, gentlemen, but I am looking for a reliable shop that services auto air conditioning systems, not a lecture on my personal economics or the legal ramifications of refilling the system with refrigerant. Pretty simple request. At least I thought so.

I have a Corona over 20 years old LPG, good car, have had it for 4 years now, about a year ago it started blowing warm air, and it cost me 6000 Baht to repair, been going well ever since, but don't live near Pattaya.

A repair shop should not refill a leaking air con system. It is illegal to do so.

At cost of about 6000B, would that then mean they replaced it? They took about four hours to fix or replace it?

A refill takes about 20 minutes and costs about 500bt.

A 20 year old car will probably be using R22 freon which is extremely difficult to get in any developed country. You should inquire about a retrofit using R134A.

As to what they did, you should have asked before you paid the bill.

I am still looking for a good auto a/c shop. Anybody have an idea where one might be found in Jomtien or S. Pattaya ?

B Quick, the major automotive chain, has the necessary equipment, but remember, the machine is only as good as the operator.
