Being Redirected to Scam Sites From the Forum Main Page

Featured Replies

On the main forum page, many of the Sponsors Banners link to (Re-Driected to ) the same scammy ad website. While I am on this main page here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/

When I hover my mouse over the little sponsors banners, I see this address for example all look very dodgy..

Note, Walen, & Sunbelt, Karma Healthfood are OK.

But the effected ones include:

Thai friendly Dating

AYC Telso

IBVE in the ed section

I see the same in Firefox & Chrome

OS is Win8

Not all ads are forum sponsors, some of the banners will be google ads which do not come from us.

If you want to know more about how the google ads work feel free to PM me.

I can ID Google Ads, The red marked ones all redirect me tot he same dodgy web sites, the Walen one doesn't.

I have my mouse hovering the IBVE sponsor ad (Red Arrow) see the circled link on bottom left of the page. All the dodgy ones got to bit.ly/xxxxxxxxxxx

post-171671-0-34327900-1391331129_thumb.

Can you please PM me or post a link to a landing page you believe is "dodgy"?

Those links are all link shortners. Some ads have them some don't. So don't see anything wrong with that as they all go to the advertisers site as normal.

For example the Thaifriendly.com uses the shortened link of bit.ly/tvdatingtf and is valid and nothing dodgy about them.

If you also use facebook you also see the bit.ly links

Yes they are common, I agree, but the ones without them worked perfectly, I tried heaps of them. EVERY one with the bit.ly shortners took me to

eg, the ad in the ed forum for IVBE

http://www.linkbucks.com/2a37db31/url/http://www.ivbe.co.th/

I got this link now from my history.

(Replace the last domain with each other domain for at least 6 sponsors links at Thai visa and many of the companies sites I had been to before and knew something dodgy was going on. Now when I check ay 8:15pm, things seem to work normally.

Maybe the problem was with bit.ly ?

Some sponsors have the actual website directly, and no issue with them.

Thanks for your replu]y. Please also, as a precaution, do a scan of your computer for virus and/or malware, to be on the safe side. It's a lot of crap out there that hijack links going to dodgy sites.

Cheers
