The question is this: my wife, who works regularly in a company based in Bangkok, in April will have a vacation period of c. a month, so I would bring her and our daughter in Italy.
Our daughter has no problems, having dual nationality and dual passports; about her mother, she has on her passport a visa issued for family reasons (for the family), valid for one year, expiring July 2014.

This visa was issued on the occasion of its previous entry in Italy in July last year. So far she has done only one entrance into Italy.
The visa is printed the words "MULT".

Therefore, this visa is valid for a second entrance in Italy (which would happen in April), or my girlfriend will have to apply for a new visa?

I ask you why I posed this question to the Italian Embassy but I haven't received reply and cause listen that this type of visa(multientry)doesn't exist anymore.
Thanks for all you answers

As well as saying Multi, the visa will probably have a valid from and to date, it may well also give a duration of days she is allowed to stay.

So providing she wants to re-enter during the validly of the visa and doesn't exceed the number of days duration, then yes she can re-enter.

On a recent visit to the Schenghan Area, my partner entered three times.

If her visa is valid she can still use it to enter any Schenghen State.

We went in Sept/Oct last year, the visa was issued by the Italian Consulate, she entered the Schenghen Area on three separate occasions via France, Italy and Belgium in that order.
