Car Daytime LED Light Price in Thailand and Hallogen xenon Spotlight (fog light) price ?

Hello,

Do you know better day running light than the stuff usually sold here ?

If no choice will use the cheap ones again but they cost more than 1000 thb in Thailand when even chinabuye has them for 400 Thb:

Please tell me where you bought your DTRL and where ?

Also, what about halogen (xenon) spotlight / foglight ?

Thanks a lot.

The only DRL's you can use in Thailand are the ones that come with the car - aftermarket ones were made illegal in 2012.

Amazing this. In the west I seem to recall DRL's are standard on all new vehicles because someone figured out they actually may prevent accidents and deaths.

Why pray tell are they illegal here?

DRL's are not illegal... fitting them to cars that never had them is :)

The problem was, so many of them were simply dangerous - too bright and poorly oriented, blinding traffic rather than increasing visibility.

The most expensive are Phillips Genuine @ around 4K fitted with switch in car,and auto dim when headlights are on. A Company called FIT do a shaped range for many new eco cars , good quality, look nice but expensive. Many folk i meet at the Car Wash say the Cheapo ones fail completely, or the leds go out and look awful. Ive found they do catch a Mocy Riders eye and they tend not to not pull out of sideroads on you, like they do with no daylights.coffee1.gif

Yep should be mandatory - i can only imagine how many people here would be saved, especially bikers, if they were

You can just install a relay to turn your head lights on after engine start. Inline with stock wiring.

Or just form a habit, even cheaper, and no warranty issues smile.png

Angel Eyes are the best option, but again expensive. When you have driven with Running Lights a long time , you soon notice if you drive without them, re Scooters popping out. One Gizmo i do like , and thats rare.wub.pngthumbsup.gif

That could be illegal. Thinking about it, I have never seen a Volvo with "day" lights here, yet in farang land they do.

Maybe? Same as turning H/lights on when it rains.

Evidence ?

I don't believe half a percent.

Cops do not stop people for having LED on except if they really need money <3

You're the one accusing me of being wrong, so the burden of proof lies with yourself :D

True but your association with cops and the laws of the land are not exactly too rigid in real life terms.

I always drive with my driving lights turned on during the day , and have noticed the safety difference ... once drove with headlights on during the day and the BIBs stoped me ... they said cannot drive with them on during the day , only for emergency cars, Government , Police and Military .... 300 bht TIT .. blink.png

Never mind the Police, fit them anyway. One avoided accident is worth more to you than 300 Bht.. ive been through lots of checks with no caution , or fine. i really doo rate the things. The ones on Mrs Pops Accord are a bit OTT admittedly but legal, but i've stuck Phillips on my Civic , and happy i did.coffee1.gif .

The ones on the Accord are LED running light's in the same housing as the main beam they look good and are a safety feature. I think some people are mixed up with LED running light's and main beam light's. Main beam is for low light night time or heavy rain to give other's a visual.

The Accords D.R.L.s tone down when you hit dipped lights and main, as do the expensive ones i fitted. Absolutely nothing to debate that hasn't been said already. I wish Toyota would stop putting under powered spots that look yellowish when used with their dipped beam. Looks like an old banger heading your way. I refer to their Cars.

The OP asked about alternative light's as well. I have fitted Xenon on all 6 of my front light's (Two spot's) and they are in a word fantastic. 5 time's Better that the standard set up, Worth every BT.

If you Google fittauto.com, and hit Google translate it opens their page in English. Don get it mixed op with FIT, that's just Honda Bling. Nice "Cup o Tea" Browse, many makes catered for.coffee1.gif

Sadly not.

ALL new motorbikes/scooters in Thailand have headlight on when engine running. So drivers now see a headlight and think it is a 110cc scooter doing 70kph so they pull out and collect a "real" bike which was travelling at 110-120 or more.

Well, and i am assuming here, that lil motos outnumber big motos 999-1. And from what i see on almost a daily basis is it is these that are in 99.9% of the accidents with other vehicles.

I suspect that the quality, or lack there of, of this groups driving skills etc is the main reason. Now if my truck has dlr's and this helps to avoid even one accident, then why not?

Because your lights make the motorbikes less visibible, therefor more prone to accidents.

According to our local Highway Police, Stan and Ollie , they say its aimed at the Colored Running lights, Red Green and Blue, on the front of trucks and coaches. Also the Kids who now put Red Bulbs in their headlights.coffee1.gif

Thai cops will pull you over if you have lights on in the day, their reasoning is that only elite and special people can use lights during the day and this is to tell others that a special person is coming, get out of the way. Another 200B later..... corrupt pigs
