'Chalerm' vows to take all demonstration sites

PNPOL570218001000601_18022014_023126.jpg

BANGKOK, 18 Feb 2014, (NNT) - Chalerm Yuubamrung, Director of the Center for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) and Labor Minister, has vowed to reclaim all of the 5 demonstration sites long held by PDRC protesters.

According to Chalerm, the operation to reclaim protest sites has gone smoothly so far. CMPO officials have successfully taken control of the Energy Ministry and detained more than 80 protest leaders and supporters, who will be subject to punishment for violating the Emergency Decree.

Officials will carry out their operation everyday until all the 5 sites taken by the protesters have been returned, Chalerm said, adding that officers from the site taken back from the protesters will be sent to help taking back Government House. He promised that authorities would not conduct the operation in the evening.

Chalerm reiterated that the CMPO would abide by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s demand that it refrain from using force in its mission. He also expressed his confidence that the continued operation would be successful and without violent incident; in spite of reports that a large number of protesters mobilized from Suratthani and Chumpon by the PDRC would arrive tomorrow.

Well I guess in his world, 3 people being killed is not really a violent incident, just a minor inconvienence...

One can't but wonder what sort of person would put a thuggish drunkard in charge of such delicate situation.

And a policeman being shot in the face in a crowded bar at point blank range isn't even murder.

" Chalerm reiterated that the CMPO would abide by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s demand that it refrain from using force in its mission. "

If this is the line Chalerm is using, he will be strongly contradicted by historians. The police were authorized to use live rounds on the protesters at one site. They threw canisters of tear-gas on people who were sitting and praying at another site. There have been three deaths, and dozens wounded. Chalerm may feel comfortable and smug nestled in the safety of press photographers, but he is a coward by any definition. And the actions of the police will now rest squarely on his shoulders.

They ought to march back to his house again...this time don't forget the blood in memory of its ok whatever red shirts do.

I once knew somebody who used to get more pissed up during the course of the day. He died in his own vomit, eventually.

Emergency Decree was just lifted douchebag.

Chalmy must be still choking on his last swig... clap2.gif

More Lip service?....everyday he promises some sort of action...and I ain't seen nothin...this guy must love listening to himself bark out promises of action...honestly,I've never heard or seen so much yakity yak come from one person with no results to back his words..it is absolutely hysterical...Does he have any idea what he sounds like?

Emergency Decree was just lifted douchebag.

Now what?

They'll reinstate it citing the violence that resulted from their crackdown today as justification.

Go Chalerm! Time to be kicking ass and taking names. And you're doing it today. Fortunately you don't have to listen to the arm chair, tin foil hat generals on TVF. Get it done.

That has to be sarcasm otherwise it simply can't be taken without laughing out loud.

No the Shinwatras think they own Thailand....

What do you call the tear gas usage and the gunshots?

Very smoothly so far.

I think some policemen are expendable for Chalerm.....his son showed already the value of a policeman....

Going smoothly....sure...4 dead...60 wounded...and more to come......

Am I alone in thinking that TS has ordered the crack down.....YL specified no violence....but TS and Chalerm thrive on it!

One can't but wonder what sort of person would put a thuggish drunkard in charge of such delicate situation.

Why not? The PDRC did....

He also expressed his confidence that the continued operation would be successful and without violent incident

Well I guess in his world, 3 people being killed is not really a violent incident, just a minor inconvienence...

He and his family have had a violent life ... he has experience at beating murder raps.

crazy.gif.pagespeed.ce.dzDUUqYcHZ.gif Chalerm thrives on only one thing: burp.gif.pagespeed.ce.RBpw6FUyRR.gif..............

However, Thaksin thrives on only one thing also.... licklips.gif.pagespeed.ce.v-hsVd-Wpu.giflicklips.gif.pagespeed.ce.v-hsVd-Wpu.gif

I suppose all this rhetoric being spouted by Chalerm must go back to the days of court jesters.

Tragic events today but overall he has managed this delicate situation with great dexterity. With public opinion so strongly on his side, the protesters will be cleared off in short order...one hopes with minimum force but simply a very firm hand.

Chalerm better hurry with this vow! Come tomorrow this SOE might become invalid and he along with the CMPO will lose authority
