Arrived 3 months ago in Chiang Mai and looking to buy 4-8 rai with or without house. Plan to grow fruit trees and keep a few animals,just for a hobby.

Problem is where, have heard of and visited a couple of areas but would like to visit more. If anyone out there can advise or even invite to get an idea of possibilities. Areas could be Mae On,Nam Phrae,Samoeng,Mae Rim,Doi Sakhet,San Sai

Chaing Dao Etc.

There are also a few Facebook groups which list land and real estate for sale in the area. If you search Facebook for "real estate and land Chiang Mai" that might work. Example:

It seems all Lands are for sale so my strategy would be drive around and find one or two areas you like..then within those area specific sites meeting your criteria...then have your wife talk to neighbors and they will produce names and ph numbers...

It worked for us ...10 rai in Mae rim near ping river....

I just looked at an old wooden house at the temple opposite Chang punk gate 30 sq wa asking 3.4M. I passed eventually but went back 4 times. Just wasn't right for my needs
