My wife and I take care of two Thai children during the week.

These children have been with us now for some 5 years.

They both speak good English and Thai. The children's language skills have developed as a result of me and my wife speaking to the children, reading them stories and finding "fun" things to do.

Television, cartoons and I-pads will not develop language skills but a willingness to interact with children on an age appropriate basis will ensure results !

Native speakers usually charge between 250-500 baht an hour. The low end fees will not be more than just talking with unplanned lessons. Most teachers want block lessons. 2 hours minimum. Figure it takes 30 minutes each way for a teacher to get there, it wouldn't be worth it for just 1 hour.

Bangkok a lot of teachers charge up to 1k baht an hour.

Where does your village belong to? Never heard of it before. A real good teacher will take between 300 and 500 baht/hour if it's one on one.

If you get some kids together,it would be cheaper for you and more fun for the kids. Please page me if you need any material.-wai2.gif
