THAILAND ANYWHERE: Experienced Canadian Teacher Available / 14 years / B.A. & TESOL

Featured Replies

Hello, my name is Dave, I'm from Canada, 48, and I just moved to Lam Plai Mat, Thailand, in August of 2013. I previously taught English in Taiwan for 14.5 years (all ages/levels/government & private schools) and came to start farming mushrooms and eggs with a friend near Lam Plai Mat here. I don't need to go to the farm each day as it's all set up and it's really just an investment, so I am now interested in finding a teaching job. I am currently on an Ed-Visa, which expires Nov/2014 but would like to start teaching to keep myself busy. To add, I have my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and I also possess my International TESOL Certificate. I am currently seeking a position "ANYWHERE" in Thailand but do like Lam Plai Mat / Buriram City / Korat areas. I prefer smaller, rural schools and areas, but will consider anything.

If you are at all interested, please let me know and I can send whatever documentation you may want. And if you're not interested, no problem and thank you very much for your time.

DAVE PATRICK
LAM PLAI MAT, THAILAND

How many different threads with the same purpose are you going to start?

Why not join a forum like ajarn or daves and post your resume there. This tactic will most likely not get you results. I would start hitting the streets with your resume, cover letter and all paperwork transcripts, degrees, Criminal background check, references. Most schools will be looking for teachers next month.

You might want to look at part time at universities. That would give you more freedom for time and flexibility but won't pay that well.

You survived 14 years of teaching in Taiwan, you can handle anything. Thai classrooms are more laid back but require different skills for motivation. Overall it is quite easier and less stress.

Thanks for the advice, and actually, I have papers in hand and going school to school starting tomorrow a.m. I also have my info. on the sites you mentioned and many others too. Yes, not too worried finding something and have a few leads already, thanks again.

Oh, also, about 30 mins. after posting, you cannot edit / delete your ad and I have informed the site to delete my former posts.
