Wow she took 30 seconds out of her day to write a short Facebook post. Is that the level of compassion the leader of the country should be showing?

Are you sure she even took 30 seconds ?.....my money is on someone else wrote it for her...wink.png

I admire her, she has branded these killers as terrorists.

Unlike Suthep who glorifies his killers as "his popcorn vendors".

She doesn't do media briefings, committees or public appearances.

In fact she doesn't do government.

Facebook? So she gets her orders via Skype and sends them to her Facebook page. thaksin may as well type the messages directly to her Facebook and she can be out of the picture.

I'm glad in a way, the country will see she is not very sincere due to the majority of the population not having access to Facebook. Though going by the reaction of the 4000 UDD supporters that cheered, clapped and whistled when they heard about the tragic loss of life in Trat maybe that was her intention.

The information can be filtered to the PT strong holds through those very same people that has been shown to celebrate terrorism and death. Fortunately the average Thai do not represent what the UDD leadership stands for.

You have no problems conveying your message on TV while shedding crocodile tears when your regime is threatened and when political gain can be achieved. The whole country had access to that televised address.

You have no problem last Tuesday going onto TV to blame the PDRC for the failed payments of the rice scheme and then still heralding the scheme a success. There was much to gain politically and the whole country had access to the televised address.

When you don't tolerate the act of terrorism and you have nothing to gain politically. When you can't demonize the opposition and don't shed a single tear for the loss of life, 50% of the population can read your insincere message on Facebook. To rub salt in the wounds it is the 50% that didn't vote for you because the ones that did still can't afford a computer or internet even though the Shinawatra regime has injected 1.5 trillion baht into the farmers plight for over 10 years.

So really there is no excuse for not showing your face on TV to act like a leader should and face the people and tell them how you feel and strongly condemn. That emotional message cannot be conveyed on Facebook.

If it was your child yingluck, would you send a message on Facebook to condone the attacks. Think about it. Those kids had parents, brothers, sisters. The poor child's only crime in Bangkok was to go shopping with his dad and sister in Big C.

Your not a leader. Your a scared little coward hiding in a corner showing your true colors.

Umm, news flash, I don't think Yingluck is reading this forum...

Her reading skills is not that good.

In this case he does realize it is incredibly insensitive and inappropriate for a PM to send messages of condolences via Facebook, but when compared to what Suthep glorifies it doesn't seem so bad. Again this is a false comparison.

Typical demagogue trick.

Actually, most people under 40 do have access to FB, on their mobile phones. Those farmers over 40... do you think she cares?

But Yingluck's red shirt supporters didn't share her condemnation of the terrorist attack in Trat by pro-Thaksin militants. Here they are cheering the news of the death of a noodle vendors' child and numerous injuries. The man extolling the killing and injuries is a police officer.

Anyway Yingluck is probably unaware of what is on her Facebook page or even who posts stuff on it. The English versions, although replete with errors, are still far better English than she could possibly write herself.

well we agree to differ... she has branded the bombers (absolutely rightly) as terrorists, and stood tall in that condemnation, and THAT, is a sign of leadership

I do not pretend she is a great leader, or a great politician, but she does not deserve this continual baiting and sniping and she has kept her composure through great stress - she deserves some credit

Some credit for what?

Happier times for Yingluck. Inspecting flood damage with Prayuth in 2011.

And the caption...?

"Are these what the peasants look like ?....they look so much like us !...only smellier"

Another one--"that stupid cabinet-water management MP forgot to let the water out of the dams Before the big rains came" "but never mind it's given us an excuse to have a day out, and test my Burberry boots out" Hey look at these farmers houses submerged.whistling.gif

I do not speak enough Thai to follow that video clip in detail. It is obviously a Redshirt rally, and they seem to be featuring people from various provinces.

It is a serious charge, that they are applauding the murder of children. Are you absolutely sure, at the time that they were filmed, they, and that audience knew exactly what had happened in Trat, and were cheering it?

Condemed the attacks... on Face-f***ing-book??? A Prime Minister? You're not even qualified to be prime poo! You know what... why don't you just get the hell out of wherever you are? Join your brother in the Middle East, whatever. One kid has died, another one is brain-dead. And all you could do is go on FB. Apart from some snide or sarcastic remarks, I have refrained from outrightly condemning you all this while, but it seems with the latest rounds of actions from you, particularly this one, you've done so yourself. Brilliantly. You're nickname shouldn't be 'crab'. It should end instead with a 'P'.

I know YL has no time to read this forum, so if any of her supporters here can pass the message along, that would be swell.

I doubt very much that YL cares about your opinion. As an outsider however, you should reconsider your call to a Thai citizen to leave their own country. Don't forget that you have way, way, waayyyyyy less rights to be in Thailand than her.

I completely agree with you. YL doesn't care about my opinion. Or anyone else' opinion here, for that matter, for if she did, you wouldn't have a field day here posting drivel. Now why did I respond as such?

You see... apart from your first point, which I already agreed with, everything else you said points to the fact that you're just being childish. It's your view, or no view. You draw unfounded conclusions, just because I don't believe in kissing YL's feet.

Lesson no. 1 - Just because my nick is 'outsider' doesn't mean I am exactly one. Secondly, without knowing any further detail, how would you know I have... to quote your eloquence "way, way, waayyyyyy less rights to be in Thailand than her (YL)"? Seriously, how do you know that? Or is that your opinion that all TV members have less rights to be in Thailand than a Thai? Including Thai TV members? Thirdly, did I even ask YL to 'leave the country'? Joining her brother in the Middle East does not constitute 'leaving the country'. It could mean 'going away until things cool down'... or something to that effect. Doesn't make her any less a Thai citizen, does it? I did not call for her citizenship to be revoked, nor did I call for her to be banished. "Get the hell out of wherever you are" could also mean she should just leave the scene... how she should do it is her prerogative. My post is open to interpretation, as is almost everything in this world, but to interpret it and then believing it to be nothing but the truth is just being completely immature. Ask, question or even engage in a debate - diplomatically. Anything else belongs to a realm inhabited only by kids.

As for my personal attack on her (re her nickname), I will not apologise for that. A kid has died (since my post, another four year old was killed, if I'm not mistaken?), and another one is brain-dead... I think I have the right to be a bit emotional that such young innocent lives are lost. Get on the TV, news... put on record your (YL's) condemnation of the despicable act. Put affirmative action in place. Get the perpetrators with the speed you nailed Kwanchai's shooters. Or faster. Like immediately. Not hide behind an FB post. And don't get me started on her going to a funeral of a policeman (Heaven bless his soul by the way).

I suggest between the 'read-then-respond' process, you'd want to insert 'thought' and 'digest' somewhere in the middle.

Hahahaha. I wonder which part of my very short post hit such a nerve.

You and I and everyone who read your post knows exactly what you were trying to say. To deny that would be just lying to yourself.

Unless you tell me that you're a Thai or have Thai citizenship, you (like me) have less rights in Thailand than a naturalised Thai. Don't believe that?

He is specifically saying that people at a demonstration had been shot in Trat. Please correct me if anybody get something more out of this, but my Thai friends are shocked after seeing the video, to say the least.

Edit, translation from another thread:

"I have good news to tell my red-shirt brothers and sisters from all provinces. The People’s Democratic Reform Committee members of Suthep (Thaugsuban) at the protest stage in Khao Saming (Trat province) were deservedly given a reception by the locals. Five PDRC people were killed and over 30 injured"

Yingluck says:

"Yingluck said her government would not tolerate the act of terrorism for political goal without caring about people's life.

"The government will not tolerate terrorism and has ordered a full investigation by authorities to find the culprits and bring them to justice without exception," her Facebook message said.

She said those with different views should turn to use peaceful measures to express their opinions instead of using violence.

"But the use of violence that lead to deaths are not the civilized way of the living. It is not the way of life of Thais who are naturally considerate and emphatic to fellow citizens, rather than resort to senseless killings. I would like to again call on all sides that it is best to use peaceful means to resolve the political conflict through the democratic process," Yingluck said."

If this is truly what Yingluck believes, she better pass a very public and strong message on to Jutaporn who is advocating violence from the "Red Shirts" at their rally site site near Korat.

So who's more violent? I think we know the answer but I'm sure Red Shirt supports will bury their heads in the sand and as usual ...."Not Us"! No way! We're innocent.... What a bunch of loosers.

"What a bunch of loosers"

I presume you mean "losers"?

Not all of us have english as a native language, shame on you.

Cult following... yeah maybe that would also describe the Shin family followers...

Has she really come out and condemned them though? Considering all I have seen or heard about is a file photo attached to a written statement posted on Facebook. That 'condemnation' could have come from any of the staff with access to that account while she ran and hid in another province.

Considering she has a Facebook Team that administers her Facebook page, the message could be from anyone of them.

Of course, if it doesn't come across well, she could always fire the team.... again.

Thailand's prime minister Yingluck fires her entire Facebook team

Errr, the internet media is nothing new to politics for Thai's or other western politicians

Did you fined anything she said that you disagree with? or you support her comments?

Depends, I suppose, if she wrote it or her Team did.

That's what is missing from providing her condemnation on a live, nation-wide television appearance. Certainty.

Beg to differ she has all the time in the world to read it. She is not doing much else. The occasional prewriten speech by some one other than her self which she has not even taken the time to look over.

I highly doubt she even knows how to use Facebook probably has a committee to do it for her.

I believe "Team" is the correct vernacular and not "committee".

she did not "hide away" she attended a funeral of a serving Police Officer so i think you should apologise for misinformation

She hadn't been seen in public for at least 4 days, I believe, until she posted on Facebook that she had been at the funeral. I call that hiding away.

utter nonsense - I have not seen Abhisit but I don't accuse him of "hiding away" she is the PM and does not have to show you where she is everyday! for a start it was the weekend

she had the courage to go to that Officers funeral and for security reasons she does not "announce" it until afterwards - wise I'd call it

just stop bullying her - she's doing a great job under extreme stress and she deserves credit for that no matter what your political leanings

I have not seen Abhisit but I don't accuse him of "hiding away

He is not the Caretaker PM of Thailand.

What are you talking about? False comparisons?

The discussion is about Yingluck calling the PDRC rally attackers murderers, while Suthep says he likes the popcorn shooters and admires their work.

It's not even a comparison. It's one person calling shooters murderers while the other person says he likes the shooters and admires murdering civilians.

Your continuing defense of a person that admires and likes murder is sickening to say the least.

Maybe you could ask the army who contravened the ROE when they shot innocent people. Or possibly even ask the PTP government who promised justice for those killed why they avoided investigating the army in favour of trying to charge just Abhisit and Suthep and then offering them an amnesty at the same time as Thaksin.

As for Yingluck I've already said well done. It seems she may have just used Facebook which isn't really appropriate but at least she did it.

What a shameless attempt to divert the argument.

It's not diverting the argument. Shannon suggested he supports murder? Where is Suthep supporting murder?

One could argue that he was doing that when he signed the orders authorising the use of live ammunition, the ROE and authorized the use of snipers in 2010, but I wouldn't want to divert the post like you......

Since when is defending Thailand from a coup a crime?
