I have just noticed that there is no Departed or Return stamp in my Thai girlfriend's passport.

She had a UK visitors visa in a new passport.

She traveled on 19 th April 2013 and the UK visa has been stamped by Heathrow Immigration.

She stayed for 2 months.

Will this affect any future visa applications? because her passport does not show that she has returned to Thailand - in fact it does not show she has left Thailand.

Has anyone experienced this before?

It's becoming more common now that Thai pasenger's are using the "fast track" passport scanners. They do not get a stamp in their passport, and I guess this is what happened to your girlfriend. It could be a problem when she next applies, as the ECO might want to see evidence that she left the UK within the validity of her visa. If you have evidence that she flew back on a certain date, for example, ticket, e-printout, boarding card stub, etc, then there should be absolutely no problem whatsoever. But, if you have none of that, then she should go to immigration at the airport, and ask them to stamp her pasport to show her arrival date in Thailand ( and exit date of you want, but she has a UK arrival stamp already to show when she traveled).

Just wondering how this non-stamping of passports could affect applications for FLR/ILR/Citizenship etc and could be in the applicants' favour i.e. they may have spent more time outside the UK than their passports indicate.
