China Visa - Entry From Lao?

Thinking of going to Kunming and maybe Jinghong in April.

Questions:

Is the landcrossing from Lao into China open to farangs (western European).

Anybody traveled in Yunnan, is it safe and easy?

Has anybody applied for double entry tourist visa (2x3months) at the Thai consulate in Kunming?

Any other advise?

it was possible

chinese visa in vientiene

very fun trip through the mountains and dirt road

bus to jinghong to kunming is over 20 hrs
