BANGKOK: -- Anti-government protesters on Wednesday rallied in front of Pheu Thai headquarters on New Phetchburi road.

The demonstrators , led by Student and People Network for Thailand’s Reform (STR), covered sign and logo of the party in the front building with a banner which read the party stop supporting secession, Thai PBS Tv station reported.

They had cement barriers with them but did not use them to lay siege the headquarters as earlier expected. They then left the building to unidentified venue.

This is the second time that the protesters rallied at Pheu Thai headquarters.

Just looks like people passing by with a few STD's holding flags. Quite sad really.

Why would it be sad? Do you remember all the protesters in Siam, Si Lom, Victory Monument, Democracy Monument and even the farmers ... All those whistle blowers and tractors are still against the current government. It's called the "tip of the iceberg."

It's a distant memory - where are they all now, in a tent in Lumpini?

Messing around with the party logo. Gonna have a lot of hurt feelings there.

Wanna bet a STR leader's house gets attacked tomorrow? Only question is it a gun attack, a grenade or both?

If whistling at a mall merits both a pipe bomb and a barrage of automatic weapon fire, then besmirching a prized logo with a banner surely calls for even stronger retribution.

The secession movement has really thrown the UDD and Pheu Thai together in a way that doubtless surprises them. The secession movement was extremely brash and in great evidence last week. But since, charges have been laid, and red shirt leaders are suddenly saying they were just kidding, and the Yingluck administration has been thrown into a defensive posture. The red shirt rally that was attended by two cabinet ministers and - unfortunately for the Yingluck administration - also recorded - has proved to be a constant embarrassment to them. It doesn't just interfere with their narrative. It destroys it.

As I recall, a person who messed with the police logo got shot dead. But the PTP is a political organization loved by the people. I'm sure they wouldn't do something like that. rolleyes.gif

People have no use for this faction. They aren't respectful of others and they have a tendency to violence. Cripes, most of them aren't even full time students. The PTP staff should have come out and offered these protestors a hug and reassured them that they are loved..

Protesters rally at Pheu Thai party office

BANGKOK: -- Anti-government protesters spearheaded by the Network of Students and People for the Reform of Thailand (NSPRT) today marched to the head-office of the ruling Pheu Thai party on Phetchaburi road to protest its leader advocating to separation movement.

As protesters arrived at the office, they placed banner opposing the separation of the country on the front gate.

Leaders also spoke through loudspeakers attacking the party for advocating the separatist movement citing statement by its party leader Charupong Ruangsuwan at last week’s rally stage of the red-shirt people in Nakhon Ratchasima.

They strongly attacked Charupong for his remarks at the red-shirt rally in Nakhon Ratchasima.

They retreated an hour later to next unknown destination.

At the red-shirt protest rally, Charupong promised all proposals of all hard-core red-shirts made on the stage for implementation.

They included the blockading of the office of the National Anti Corruption Commission, and all independent agencies which include Criminal Court, Civil Court and the Election Commission, kidnapping and taking senior officials hostages, and the separation of the country.

Charupong also threatened anti-government protesters of uprising by over 10 millions of people who owned handguns in the country if “democracy” falls.

He also said he is a chief licenser of guns nationwide.

What he spoke was considered by the military as a serious threat to national security particularly when he is a gun registrar which means he could issue gun ownership license, gun carrying license to the people which coincides with the red-shirt leader declaring to recruit 100,000 of armed guards to protect democracy.

This is a far cry from the student lead revolution in 92 , bye bye Junta and it seems that only a small minority of students are involved, the PTP can thank their lucky stars that this is the case, long timers will remember the strong student cause of that era, they persisted and one, although much older ,some are still active with Suthep in this protest, but most remain silent , I wounder why?

I would fully support the police stationing officers at every STR members house(not just the leaders - every members) to prevent such an atrocity occurring.

I'm quite sure the police budget will be able to absorb the costs of the 5 or 6 officers it would require to do this.

Protesters at Pheu Thai Party headquarters rallying against separatism
By Digital Content

BANGKOK, March 5 - The Network of Students and People for Reform of Thailand (NSPRT) protesters today rallied at the ruling Pheu Thai Party headquarters against some party members' alleged support of separatism.

The anti-government protesters mobilised following the remarks of Jarupong Ruangsuwan, Pheu Thai Party leader and caretaker interior minister, who earlier showed support for a call by some pro-government supporters to separate Thailand’s North and Northeast into a new country.

Protesters led by Nitithorn Lamlua and Uthai Yodmanee left their Chamai Marchet Bridge site to Pheu Thai Party headquarters on Phetchaburi Road, to campaign against the separation of the country.

They tried to remove the word "Thai" from the ruling party's headquarters' banner, claiming that the party has not done for the country, but instead, for the benefit of themselves.

As the removal failed, they covered the party banner with the new one which reads "Stop Separating the Country".

Before leaving the compound, Mr Uthai said he would continue following caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, as well as all Pheu Thai ministers.

They later moved to the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning to urge civil servants to stop working for the caretaker government. (MCOT online news)

That's silly and there is absolutely no point in dragging Frank Zappa into this...

They're probably inactive because they don't want the embarrassment of being associated with this overwhelming failure of Sutheps', or maybe it's because they are now law abiding citizens who no longer want to associate with the Yellow crims.

One suspects the collective IQs of these thugs would not reach the daily BKK air temperature.

At least they didn't throw grenades like the thugs at the NACC office. And the sign should have read as well " PT - stop stealing the people of Thailand's money "

Yes, I agree. Not throwing grenades beats anyone throwing grenades hands down....oh, forgot. They threw grenades at cops. And kidnapped a man in Lumpini, tortured him, and then threw him in the river tied up to die...but wait, they can't be thugs! They're led by a monk.

Whew, that was close. The headline should read

"Into the Valley of death strolled the 200!

Canons to the rewritten left of me.

Canons to the rightness of all who hate each other."

You mean Sutheps Six million!

They all went home only left are those that need the pay and those that have no home to go home to!

Actually, the most likely outcome would probably be the police catching the PDRC clowns bombing their own houses with dud grenades.

Actually, the most likely outcome would probably be the police NOT catching themselves bombing the houses of their masters' rivals.
