aussieinphuket Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Was very surprised yesterday 7th march 2014 to arrive at BC and see a lot of security around. Was then explained after years of negotiates the club has a new owner... When questioned who, was given a very vague reply a Thai gentleman from Phuket with a management company from HKG.... or HKG company ownership of BC.. We can only hope for good things for such a beautiful club after years of internal fighting between the Singaporean manager who just bled the club for as much cash as he could take out and never put anything back into maintaining the club.... and his ex-Thai partner.. The club has been run by misfits and monkeys who are just puppets for the Singaporean... 'have a nice day i hope you play well'...now we might see some actual golf club professionals running the club as it should be done... as every time the club was lucky enough to have an excellent Course Superintendent or Golf Club Manager they either didn't pay them or made life difficult as they did not like to be shown how things should work properly.. all staff now might be paid correctly and on time... not months late.... The courses both need an extensive upgrade/overhaul and the golf club itself needs a major refurbishment nothing that a coat of paint wouldn't help either.... water sprinklers leaking on both courses, weed in all fairways, no red/yellow/white markers showing hazards or out of bounds... the course maintenance staff don't remove the markers before cutting grass they just drive over the markers and break them up..... all green water sprinkler boxes on fairways have been damaged by the tractor and grass cutters and it won't be long until someone breaks a leg stepping into one, we have already had a few badly cut legs as the lids are not on them or as i said badly damaged.... there is a lot to be done to this place.... I wish the new owner whomever it maybe all the luck in future and if they show the members they are looking to improve the place they will receive back good support from them...
grumpyoldman Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Golf will be interesting when they make the players run. 2
MMan Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Thanks for the info. BC has had problems as long as I can remember and have never been able to keep any good management. Let's hope they turn that around. For various reasons including those you mention + cost golfers have been largely avoiding Phuket in recent years. 1
Palaudiver Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I am the new member , do not known the problems the club is facing before I join . Now the new management took over , I hope they could be more open to share the coming development and improvement they will make to the club . Open up to let the member know and no more secretive !
