Those guards/thugs love to use their weapons. They beat you up or shot at you for nothing

I think the passenger said; "Shut up I'm trying to get laid here"

The guards don't like to be spoken too so they opened fire. You never stare at an ape and you never speak to or look at a yellow shirt.

Can't be true these guards are unarmed and peace loving guys, they don't even raise their voices. They throw rose petals to ward off unwanted guests.

Brilliant but... Be careful!

Sarcasm is not well metabolize by the Suthepistas and Abhisitbots here in TV. They may think you are justly glorifying those harmless protesters' guards.

Jamie,

Have you ever been in a car when someone has fired shots from inside it? It'll give your ears a good beasting that's what happens, you're a doubting Thomas Jamie, when it comes to the protestors using weapons, as for the CCTV, you seem to have forgotten that the PDRC guards covered a lot of them up me old China wink.png

Sure it could be a load of Bovine Scatology, but closed minds you have I see!! ;)

Reported elsewhere that there is another side to that one.

It says that shots were fired from the rear seat of the taxi towards the protesters and someone returned fire.

The truth ? I don't know.

Again your feeble attempts to defend these defenseless actions by the protest guard.

!. the guards caused the confrontation, by attempting to order citizens to leave a public park!

2. The guards are not peaceful unarmed protesters.

3. the article stated when the gunshots started the occupations of the taxi ran, did a gun fire by itself from inside the Taxi.

Could you kindly, advise us to the other source you stated had a different version of the incident!

Cheers

Hang on. When it is a bomb or gun fire aimed at "enemies" of the PTP it is the PDRC especially when no one was hurt according to you. These attacks forced the PDRC into Lumpini park in the first place yet you still say it is the PDRC forcing themselves into a park.

Now we have a taxi driver (with no passenger as witness because he mysteriously disappeared) who after having bullets fired at him is slightly grazed and is telling the media and police his version of events while no one else can collaborate it. I am sure that there will be no CCTV footage of this either. Mark my words, if they were the PDRC guards that attacked you can bet your farm tractor (that has to be repossessed) that the police would find the CCTV footage to back their claims.

So you read an OP that tells a taxi drivers version of events with no other witnesses and you have no idea what this taxi drivers back ground is. No CCTV footage yet you are adamant that this is gospel while sitting on your front patio drinking coffee. YET during a red shirt rally in Phichit, former Pheu Thai Waipote Arpornrat threatened the NACC, saying the graft-busting agency would find “hell on earth” if it dared to rule against the prime minister and the next day a hand grenade was thrown into the NACC compound and going by your wisdom and sound deductive reasoning it was a PDRC protestor.

That's PTP logic right there.

Okay, okay, the taxi driver shot himself, just as the guy a couple of days ago bound his own hands and feet and threw himself in the river.

Oh so I see you have the red Shirt Book !! Because that's what it says on page 2 on what to do to your self and make it look like someone else did this to you !!! This is just normal Red tactics plain and simple move along.

I hope the taxi driver recovers from his injury with no lasting damage, and is able to return to driving his taxi soon.

These are the inevitable consequences of taking to the streets and demanding what is basically revolution, overthrow of a political system and kidnap of high level state persons etc. There are people out there who are quick to lose their cool when they feel they are part of some great historic moment and that they are the only true representatives of righteousness and justice. This is always the danger of taking politics away from the debating-floor and discussion-table, and onto the streets. It is a magnet for some very unstable violent extremist types who feel that "might is right" and words are superfluous. This of course applies to both sides of this directionless and grim factional squabble.

Well what you say should hold true but if you have been following this government from the time it took power you would know that there was no opposition allowed in Parliament.

The Opposition was powerless because the sitting government had the majority with out the support of any one else. Remember it was the grass roots people who started this it was not a company or another political party. The unity came after there was several groups out there protesting without a leader. Suthep came along and took the reins and brought them all together. The PTP now listen but it is to late. They have painted themselves into a corner from which they can not escape.

Lets face it when we have a PRIME MINISTER who does not condemn groups that support her for suggesting openly separation of the country and when she finally does it is done on Facebook only after the Army has taken steps to deal with this obviously illegal action. We have a government that is completely ineffective. They can not even pay their bills.

As for the shooting well as you can see there is another side to the story. Is it true will we ever know who knows.

The one thing that is consistent is the anti opposition leaders have had to hire their own guards as has been shown time and again the police will not protect them.

Who tells the police what to do? I am not talking about public ordering them I am talking about the real orders that they follow.

Just because they are not in power that makes it right to kill and hurt innocent people???????

Totally agree, because they are not in power, all those nasty unknowns who keep on firing at anti-government protesters should go home and let the CMPO and police force do their work of properly protecting both protesters and normal Bangkokians.

Too many deaths already and no clues or suspects for the dead children.

Grassroots? Hahaha! That's a good one. Since when did filthy rich ex-generals and businessmen evoke "grassroots".

You mean like businessman Thaksin with his UDD / red-shirt support?

I'd like to read those other reports. Can you post the links? Cheers

The BangkokPost mentioned that a PDRC spokesperson called Akanat said that witnesses spotted a taxi driving around the park and someone in it opened fire.

No comment, waiting for more info

Thailand is full of nut cases, so killing each other is the best way to solve their differences.

Interesting. One of the guys I 'teach' lives next to the Convention Centre, Chiang Mai, where Jutaporn and his cohorts addressed the reds on Saturday.

He and his father tell me that the speeches were hate-filled, exhorting people to violence, encouraging an uprising and continuing the line about a separate Lanna Republic.

Both of these people do not hold strong political views and they mentioned this to me almost in passing. One of these persons is due to move to Europe shortly but his father farms the hills in the north of Thailand.

Whatever the media reports say, whatever the red posters here claim, there is undeniable evidence that these people are gunning for a fight. In their speeches they referred to their leader asking them to learn to use arms, form themselves into a 'red guard for democracy', fight back and so on. If I had any doubt at all before this episode, I certainly don't have any now.

Let's hope the Reds will not be the next one to raise tension in Thailand. I do hope for a unified peaceful Land of Smiles:)

That is wishful thinking when red shirts are involved.

I find it strange that the Bangkok Post or the Nation have not commented on the red shirt rally here in Chiang Mai.

I to would like to see a unified peaceful country but that is not in the red shirt PTP play book.

I think people tend to forget that Thailand was widening the split under the PTP and the grass roots people finally became vocal rather than sit back and let the PTP red shirts continue with the raping of the country.

It came as a shock to them. They thought they were so clever. As long as Thaksin Shinawatra runs this country it will never be united. It is not that it couldn't unite it is that Thaksin does not want it united. If it was the people would be able to see his ill will towards Thailand. As long as they are divided he can still loot the treasury.

Unfortunately he is supported by Ex Pats who benefit from his liberal use of bribery both giving and receiving.

Why of all places in bangkok would a Taxi driver bring a Drunk to Lumpini Park where everyone knows is already security concious because of the M79 grenade attacks by the Red Shirts. There is more to this than what has been reported. Rama 2 is way, way out down south of Bangkok. More likely the drunk was on his way to mess with the guys at the park
