Has anyone had experiences with copper bromide (facial) treatment in Thailand? It doesn't seem to have taken off here as I couldn't find any hospitals that offer it in Bangkok. How does it compare with laser on melasma and mole removal?

I have not heard of anyplace here having the CuBr laser. Mostly they have the Yag, Fraxel, CO2, IPL and V-Beam.

For melasma, first line of treatment is usually topical medications such as hydroquinone or retinoids, along with of course sunblock. If these are not sufficient then sometimes a combo of microdermabrasion plus Yag can be considered. However laser often makes it worse, and is only advisable if it is epidermal melasma (usually not the case).

If on birth control pills, switching to a non-hormonal method of contraception may resolve things.

Moles are an entirely different matter. Options include excision with fine suturing and laser. The main issue is scarring and also whether there is a need to biopsy the mole. Need to discuss with a dermatologist as moles vary in their depth.
