Army warns all sides to respect court's rulings

winthai-3-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- The army has pleaded with all political groups to refrain from making use of the Constitution Court’s ruling to further worsen political conflict and to respect the judicial process.

The plea was made by Colonel Winthai Suvaree, deputy spokesman of the army on behalf of the army in wake of the charter court’s ruling Wednesday against the government’s two trillion baht loan bill as unconstitutional.

The Democrat party has threatened to collect signatures from members of the public to support its planned move to impeach caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and the cabinet for violating the charter, citing the court’s ruling.

Colonel Winthai, however, said that the army could not make a comment on the court’s ruling but would prefer to see all relevant parties to follow the court’s ruling.

He insisted that the army is neutral and does not support any political groups in particular although it is committed to helping the people and ensuring safety for the people.

"Colonel Winthai, however, said that the army could not make a comment on the court’s ruling but would prefer to see all relevant parties to follow the court’s ruling."

So the army will make a comment then.

"He insisted that the army is neutral and does not support any political groups in particular although it is committed to helping the people and ensuring safety for the people."

All said with a straight face. Apparently, as deputy army spokesman, he is deprogrammed to the Thai army's chequered history of "interaction" with the very people it claims to help and ensure the safety of.

respect the judicial process?

Wow, that would turn the entire system upside down. Welcome to Thailand the new hub of righteousness!

It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protestor to burn the flag.

Actually the author is Charles M Province. http://www.iwvpa.net/provincecm/

When the courts ruled that the current protests in Bangkok were "peaceful", and "not aimed at overthrowing the government", they destroyed what little credibility they had left, and proved themselves to be nothing more than yellow pawns (like the army top brass).

It's official, the army supports the corrupt courts, but not the constitution. I wonder who is behind this? Tom Cruise?

Yingluck and Thaksin are complete innocent and all is conspiraton of the elite which is super rich and so top secret that no one knows their name.

But still the can bribe the courts, the military, the Democrats, the Bangkok middle class and the southern rubberfarmer.

But they can't simply buy of a couple of MPs like it was done many times in the past, because now these PTP MPs are simply uncorruptable.

Do I get you right?

Corruption is rampant in the court system. The problem here is when throughout all the coups, etc, these members have stayed consistent and kept the same old Tom Cruise biased views in there rulings. They put the government in a difficult position when their rulings contradict the current constitution.

As far as Yingluck, she is guilty of bad policies, not criminal activity. Over promising and under delivering is in the definition of politics.

As fas as Thaksin, I have pointed out to fault where his charges were not justifiable and he was convicted by Wasan Soypisudh (also spelled Soipisut), who later became president of the Constitutional Court and has had close ties to the Democratic party. Just a few of Wasan Soypisudh's history and accomplishments:

1. When he first graduated from Thammasat University, a senior person took him to see the former PM and ex-Democrat Party boss Seni Pramoj, and he became an intern at Seni’s law firm.

1. He handed down a two-year imprisonment term on former PM Thaksin Shinawatra for assisting his wife in the Ratchada land purchase deal.

2. Wasan played a role in stripping red-shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan of his parliamentary election victory by ruling that his incarceration on bogus charges meant he was ineligible.

3. He found it necessary to clarify its decision to intervene in the political process by “checking” on the “constitutionality of the legislative process by which the [charter] amendments are made…” even though this is outside the constitution.

4. He said the red shirts “had the right to file a petition according to the civil code.” He explained that: “A judiciary committee will hold a meeting to look into the petition and see if those who question the ruling truly do not understand or pretend not to understand or are just pretending to be dumb…”.

Yes this was an actual court justice. One more comment from him about the constitutional court: “It is good if we are merged into the Supreme Court, because then anybody who insults the court will go to jail…”.

This way the courts can remain biased and protected from scrutiny.

People who break the law and whine about the court system are losers.

I completely agree there crush! People who do not accept the outcomes of elections and whine and cry and stomp their feet and blow their whistles and block traffic and hinder commerce, are most certainly losers thumbsup.gif

The real losers are those parties that use electoral fraud to win elections when they would have won the elections without using electoral fraud...and then whine and cry when they are called onto the carpet for their electoral fraud.

TRT + PPP = Worst Losers

Yes. The red shirts were losers when they complained about Abhisit being elected PM.

One more thing…everyone knows their name…you just can't discuss it.

I am confused. I thought there was only a very small group of people, (all belonging to the same family) who's names could not be mentioned. I am always burning with curiosity when red posters go on about the mysterious "Bangkok elite" who are behind Suthep etc but no-one can ever say their names. If this conspiracy is so real, let us hear the names of the people who are supposed by red supporters to be Mr Suthep's puppetmasters.

That is just a tad ironic since Thailand is the hub of coups, but nonetheless, I get the gist. Obviously, the Thai army has been trying to give something to Thailand 17 or is it 18 times, in 80 years.
