Guess Chalerm needs the money for an OTOP project up-country, there's a redshirt village who told him that with the help of the Burmese, they can produce excellent ear drops.

1.25 billion baht budget used in the 52-day operation of the CAPO from December 1, 2013 - January 21, 2014.

Let's see 24038461.5385 or roughly 24 Mill. per day. 700 THB for every personal on duty, so roughly 34285 (!) police and military force were keeping peace and order everyday in that time frame, correct?

Wow where were they? All on roof tops?

Correct but Chalerm is asking for a total of 3.55 billion Bhat. In USD terms that would be over two million dollars a day in expenses.

Was there not a report of CMPO receiving some VERY expensive 5 star catering delivered daily ?

It's so easy to throw other people's money around and in this case it's the Thai people's cash, not that it is of any relevance to Chalerm and his ilk.

When some of the best food the country has to offer is available from the street karts at 50-100b a dish... I've had a kingly feast at some of the street resturants for around 500b for two.

I saw a report not so long ago suggesting the daily food bill was anything up to B500,000 but even allowing for some mis-information it must have been figures well over the top and certainly not justifiable, not that anyone will bother to try.

The Election Commission confirms no CMPO budget holdup

Now we will have the EC stalling on letting the CMPO have money while at the same time encouraging the policemen and soldiers to sue the CMPO for payment of the 700 Baht a day they should have been paid.

Just like the poor rice farmers.

The rice farmers weren't paid because the economic stupidity of PT's rice scheme meant there was no money to pay them. The EC never blocked payment, they merely pointed out to the govt it was illegal to create debt for the next govt in their caretaker role. The farmers aren't being paid because there is no money to pay them and under this scheme never will be. The farmers need to be paid and then the whole thing written off and accept the loss.

As for the police and army pay, CMPO promised them the money and they should get paid, but only a fool would give a corrupt politician like chalerm that amount of money without some scrutiny. Again PT have created a problem and they are responsible for any consequences of making promises they cannot keep, not the EC.

"The Election Commission (EC) has approved a withdrawal of 1.25 billion baht from the central budget at the Cabinet’s request to finance necessary spending at the now-defunct Center for Administration for the Peace and Order (CAPO) while requesting Pol. Capt. Chalerm Yubamrung to explain the necessity to withdraw another 2.3 billion baht for the Center for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO)"

Sometimes it just boggles the mind. Let me get this straight: They APPROVED the requisition for funds by a center that is DEFUNCT to spend on NOTHING nor NO ONE as it is DEFUNCT, BUT, they question the budget request of their NEW center that is actually OPEN. whistling.gifthumbsup.gif

It has become so utterly clear to me how the world really works now since educating myself in these matters.

The elite, in all countries, from central bankers down, use their power to create money out of thin air to have total control over who gets into government. Red or blue, the public is given the illusion of choice, they vote for one or the other, it doesn't matter, as the same people behind the scene stay in power as "advisors".

They need government power as government power has the LAW on its side, even the bankers cannot make the laws, they know this, so is is paramount that they control government. This also gives them influence over the army and over police and all laws, including taxation laws.

These people then print money and swap it for IOUs (bonds) - the money is made up out of nothing but the bonds are real. Why? Because they are backed by the nation. Who funds the nation? The tax payer. Who controls that money? Government. Who controls government? The Hi-So, the elite / bankers / financiers.

As it plays out in the US, so it plays out everywhere in the world, including Thailand. These people in government enforce laws that make it illegal for citizens not to pay taxes. They then divert these taxes into their own bank accounts through public projects, housebuilding, road building, corruption and laundering, whatever.

They are not stupid, that's for sure.

What a world-wide stitch up.

Wait until the dollar collapses and out of nowhere, some bank like the IMF will suggest a "temporary" world currency (SDRs) just to "alleviate global suffering and prevent total global economic meltdown".

Wait and see.

100Bt/dish? Is that from the street cart attached to the Bentley?

Well Dr. Bruce, inadvertently you are 100% correct. Just like the rice farmers, the government uses a semi-legimate excuse to get a budget then they siphon off all the cash to off shore accounts instead of actually doing what they were supposed to do with the money, like pay salaries of the police.

The EC is responsible for the Yingluck cabinet not getting a budget to pay the farmers? Hmmm. How do you explain the non-payment before the House was dissolved?

Jusk asking and since you are a "Dr" I expect a clear answer.

if you go for prawns, fish or a plateful of grilled chicken and your eating in BKK - yeah its possible to pay upto/around 100b

If your going for noodle soup or fried rice, can be a lot cheaper wink.png
