tomacht8
The Election Commission confirms no CMPO budget holdup BANGKOK: -- Mr. Supachai Somcharoen the Election Commission Chairman has noted that the house hasn’t yet approved the central budget of 23.9 billion baht for the CMPO, stating that some expenses documents needed to be reviewed. -- NNT 2014-03-14 Or how to go from 2 Billion to 23,9 Billion in 26 posts. There are indeed 2 NNT news files. One with 2,3 Billion Baht (2.300.000.000) http://thainews.prd.go.th/centerweb/newsen/NewsDetail?NT01_NewsID=WNPOL5703140010006 And another one with: 23.9 Billion Baht (23.900.000.000) http://thainews.prd.go.th/centerweb/newsen/NewsDetail?NT01_NewsID=WNPOL5703140010011 I think the Formica table, wherever the three cucumbers faces holding there press conferences, with the plywood wall in the background and with the CMPO posters on it, with broadcasting equipment costs in the best case 30,000 Baht per day. So for what needs these CAPO - CMPO - DSI construct so much money? For over four months, not a single grenade launcher, pistol or rifle shooter was caught! inefficient and useless to the highest grade. It is better to exclaim a bounty of 10 million baht for any advice that will lead to the capture of this crazy grenade launcher, pistol or rifle shooter murderers. That would bring very quickly results and not cost much. Edited March 14, 2014 by tomacht8
pmugghc
Now we will have the EC stalling on letting the CMPO have money while at the same time encouraging the policemen and soldiers to sue the CMPO for payment of the 700 Baht a day they should have been paid. Just like the poor rice farmers. Kudos to Dr Bruce, the only one of our Thai Rouge members who tries to defend Dr Chalerm. Just like the poor rice farmers. Well Dr. Bruce, inadvertently you are 100% correct. Just like the rice farmers, the government uses a semi-legimate excuse to get a budget then they siphon off all the cash to off shore accounts instead of actually doing what they were supposed to do with the money, like pay salaries of the police. The EC is responsible for the Yingluck cabinet not getting a budget to pay the farmers? Hmmm. How do you explain the non-payment before the House was dissolved? Jusk asking and since you are a "Dr" I expect a clear answer. Come on, Try that one on Chalerm while you are at it. "Since you are a "Dr" I expect a clear answer." Halion
700 Baht per day on top of their salary as subsistence money? Is this a joke.. With regard to the RTP/ARMY what is the justification for such payments for simply doing their job and with regard to the RTP, not very well at that. It would appear that these are loyalty stipends designed to influence and nothing more with the final cost after those in power have taken their dividend by the public borne by the public. And what will an unpaid farmer think about that daily orgys? Think there must be also some hello- and catering girls include. The total bill is still a lot higher than in this hiso Gentelmen Clubs. No wonder, with such a party budget, that there are no more responsible police officers on the streets. Edited March 14, 2014 by tomacht8

Indeed, one of the reasons suggested for the massively disproportionate police movilization against the few thousand people joining the Pitak Siam protests some months ago was to syphon money into the police. kuthow
Concerning the 2.3 billion baht budget of the CMPO, the EC has not yet approved the budget as there are not enough details to justify its approval. Therefore, the EC has summoned Pol. Capt. Chalerm, an acting CMPO Director, to elaborate the budget request at a meeting to take place this March 27. Chalerm says he'll be a no-show at the meeting asking him to explain what he plans to do with Two Point Three Billion Baht. http://thainews.prd.go.th/centerweb/newsen/NewsDetail?NT01_NewsID=WNPOL5703170010006
Commander Tamson
Chalerm is just a good Buddhist and dutifully following Buddha's teachings. Did the Lord Buddha not say "ask and you shall be given". He didn't say "Provide a detailed breakdown and, after close scrutiny by the appropriate authorities, you may be given".
