"They should come because popcorn vendors have made popcorn for them," Suthep said, referring to the gunmen at the clash between the red shirts and PDRC protesters before election day. The clash saw some gunmen covering their rifles with popcorn bags.

"Natthawut Saikuar and Jatuporn Promphan should really come … I don't know these popcorn vendors but I really love them."

I don't know these popcorn vendors, but I EMPLOY THEM!

Yes, agreed. You have actually highlighted an aspect of the PDRC that is often misrepresented by the UDD supporters on TVF. That is that the PDRC are majority driven. An organization like the PDRC that is so extensive that Sutehp could not possibly know who all his "employees" are. Like Microsoft, Bill Gates won't be held to account for an employee's actions which in this case was defending innocent civilians against hardened terrorist criminals. Thank you Rich teacher for your highlighting this critical misunderstanding by your peers.

I am a big fan of Vivat for showing courage under fire to protect civilians that were being attacked by the red shirts terrorists overseen by the notorious Ko Tee who by the evident one sided accountability by thakins little helpers shows he acted with impunity. Where is Chalerm bringing Ko Tee to account? He was on the other side firing back at the defender of innocent protestors.

Nope? Forgot that principle of democracy again? Yep, thought so.

There's a good chance Bill gates would know if his employees were out on the streets shooting at people with assault rifles and there's a better chance his reaction would be entirely different than Sutheps'.

Bill is ethical and has morals.

PDRC are majority driven?

If by majority you mean minority, then yes, you are correct.

How many principles of democracy are there again?

Your asking me yet you defend the PTP who purport to defend democracy?

Tell me the principles that you support? Apart from elections..

Gon. I dare you.

Your asking me how many principles of democracy there are yet you defend the PTP who purport to defend democracy? If you ask me, why defend a party that you have no understanding of what the support.

Tell me the principles that you support? Apart from elections..

Go on. I dare you.

Far too many holes in this.

1. First they said it was an AK47, now it's an M16 when it was obvious from the famous picture that it was a bullpup design.

2. Clips of the customary reenactment show that this chap is unfamiliar with firearms, which can't be said about the popcorn shooters in clips from Laksi.

3. It's 500 baht, not 300.

Piss poor effort by the RTP.

Anyone other than me wonder why this popcorn shooter's story is quickly deep-sixed, and treated as a one-day headline by the Media?....Anyone else think this is by design?

Vivat Yodprasit, the "suspected shooter at Laksi intersection on the eve of the Feb 2 poll, told police he was given an M16 assault rifle from a chief guard of an anti-government group and was paid 300 baht a day to provide security for demonstrators."

That is about as clear as it gets: Suthep Thaugsuban's anti-democrats paid a gunman 300 baht a day and gave him a military weapon to shoot red shirts. In essence, Suthep should be facing more charges, this time for attempted murder. The chances that Suthep did not know about his security team's activities is negligible.

Vivat has said that "he concealed his weapon in a large popcorn sack" both to "conceal the M16 and to collect spent bullet shells...".

The suspect was hired by the "chief of the PDRC's guard team at the Chaeng Watthana rally site." He became a member of the "Phra Ong Dam" (or Black Prince) group of guards. He was hidden in the Surat Thani house of the same chief.

In the face of all this evidence, the anti-democrat spokesman could only bleat that arresting Vivat was somehow an act of political bias.

So your really suggesting that some one is going to go out of their way to find someone with no military experience and then give them a $2,000 (65,000b) gun! Really?

Well, the photographs of him plastered all over social networks sites would surely be an easy answer to your question, it appears indeed that someone gave him the weapon, and I'd love to know where you come up with $2000 from? It's not like they bought them from an Army Navy Store mate, these were apparently weapons that went missing back in 2010, black market prices as well doubt they'd fetch $2K, kind of makes it also interesting that the 2 Army guys, last week were also caught with near on 2,000 rounds of ammo, and an M16/M4 assault rifles not issued to them for duty ;)

That went all quiet, and don't recall any of the Army Commanders coming out and stating they were on "duty" either..

So to answer your suggestion, in that someone gave this guy an assault rifle with very little experience.. well, yeah of course they did, the pictures were all over the worlds media..

So it seems to be suggested the PDRC will give just about anyone who applies a tinhat and a gun?
