I thought this might be helpful:

I have Thai wife for 6 years

She has 2 children with Thai father

I have 1 child with Thai mother, not her

She has spent 1/2 years on and off in the UK. Last time 3 years

She has a Thai business. She is 38 years old

I am retired

We went to get FLR at vfs in BKK

No problem

We Provided Copies of UK passports with entry/exit stamps of self and children over 10 years

UK House Papers/Council Tax/Utility Bills

Letter from Chiang Mai Consulate confirming my Income

All documents relating to her Thai Passport/ID/Tabian Baan/Business documents/Bank Books

Birth Certificates of all children and school records

Current Accommodation Paper

Car documents/ownership etc

Was called to see officer at vfs!! Said:If only every one provided this kind of detail, our life would be easy.....

Said also most people applying for visas/self/gf simply fail to provide appropriate documentation!!

Given that Further Leave to Remain is to extend the applicants entitlement to remain in the UK, I'm wondering why, or even how, your wife applied in the Bangkok Visa Application Centre.

Likewise why would having a Thai business make it easier to remain in the UK?

Am I missing something here?

I am also wondering how and why an 'officer' at VFS commented on the quality of the paperwork; seeing as they are merely a handling agent and play no part in the decision making process.

Particularly as most of the paperwork detailed has no bearing on a UK settlement visa any way.

OP, do you really mean FLR, which can only be applied for inside the UK, or are you talking about a visit visa?
