Best price on quality SEA 2-3 star hotels to live in? Vietnam

Featured Replies

By "quality" i mean around a 22 sq metres room with all the basic amenities, everything works well (e.g. shower), has a lift, excellent in room wifi, comfortable bed, quiet, centrally located, close to Western food (e.g. 7-11, supermarkets), mini fridge, laundry facilities plus 5 star type of service & attitude from the staff, which includes being able to understand and speak English.

An in room safe (solidly bolted down), restaurant with room service & flat screen TV with 20 English channels would be bonuses.

To "live in", i.e. for up to 2-3 months a shot, up to 3 times a year.

It seems Vietnam's two major cities, Saigon & Hanoi, have quite a few hotels that offer rooms around 25 USD (free wifi & breakfast included) fitting those requirements.

I haven't found anything like that at this price elsewhere in SEA or the entire Asia. Places i looked at included Vientiane in Laos, PP in Cambodia, KL in Malaysia, & Jakarta Indonesia, etc.

All those places pretty much sucked in this regard compared to Vietnam. Based upon reading thousands of traveller's hotel reviews.

I expect the value would often improve as one leaves cities of this size for smaller locations, but then there may be issues with travelling there or they may not offer as many options re food, if they even are sufficient in that regard.
