Anyway, TMD predicted rain for this week, which was of course duly noted on all Phuket news websites, and as usual they were wrong. This has been the case for many, many years already, how long before 'journalists' take notice and stop reporting information that they should know is wrong. No! prices are set by supply and demand. Higher prices could mean a shortage of something and a higher demand for it, or the same demand but less of it. e.g 100 serious beer drinkers trying to get one or more of the last 10 cans will pay anything to get a can. or as it is under normal circumstances, beer drinkers having unlimited cans at their grasp, will pay only the cheapest price. I doubt it's the heat, school holidays and flight MH370. Probably more to do with the new demographic of tourist coming here, at the expense of a shrinking western tourist market, Phuket's poor image and the fact that it's become a less value for money holiday. Is that meant to be a 4 lane road from one end of Patong to the other & was it supposed to be finished several years ago? I assume it is also where the tunnel will connect to. If there are less people in Patong because of its poor image then the powers that be there only have themselves to blame for allowing it to degenerate.
