In the case of the points probably not, hopefully the problem is gone? But that is exactly how a dead spot acts it may go weeks until that one unlucky time when you last need it to happen and it stops on that spot.. Keep a small hammer with you..

Back in the day, my buddy saw an add for a 1969 Road Runner for sale - engine blown it said.

Took him over to the guys place, he turned the key to on - idiot lights came on. Turned key to start - no noise, just all the lights dimmed.

Put down a deposit quick, signed a conditional bill of sale, went to bank next day to get the remaining money, paid and got a bill of sale.

While he got in the car, I went underneath. He turned the starter to start, I whacked the starter with a hammer, car started right up.

Should of seen the sellers face !!!

Lucky bastid!! I can imagine the previous owner was pretty gob smacked, to coin a Brit phrase, nice to know about mechanics when others don't in a case like that.. I saw a pristine Daytona Super bird today on the back of a trailer w00t.gifwub.png .

Especially if it had a 426 Hemi in it, worth a fortune today.....wub.png

There were two types, Dodge Daytona and Plymouth Superbird. Just slight body differences as I recall.

Yeah, this will probably get deleted like the last thread that morphed but it was a Dodge, definitely a Hemi.. ) Used to go and watch them in person rumbling around the high banks of Daytona in my youth. What a sight and sound! Nothing like it and they dominated.
