Boat from Phuket Town to Yao Yai Island

Featured Replies

Does anybody know how often the boats leave from Phuket Town to Yao Yai Island on Saturdays

Recent topic on this here ---> http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/705598-day-trip-to-koh-yao-yai/

The more frequent high speed ferry is from Bang Rong Pier on the road from Thalang to Paklok. I read there is a ferry from phuket Town but it seems like only twice a day.

We caught the ferry at 10.30, timetable link ---> http://www.rocknrowthailand.com/koh_yao.html

(I know the timetable shows to Yao Noi, but that ferry first stops at Yao Yai and then goes on the Yao Noi)

bring your own life jackets

Interesting post. Fact of the matter I never did find any life jackets on that high speed ferry. I did look and enquire (something I routinely do from working 25 years on crew boats) - no comment (mai lou) by the boat crew.

Good on you for at least looking & asking. But such a sad, typical response blink.png

Off topic i know, but last time we went to Ko Samui, the life rafts on the top deck of

the car fery which can carry hundreds of passengers were overdue for inspection

by 2 years, Do you really think boats are regularly inspected here to make sure

they have the proper safety equipment and are seaworthy, not likely
