Hi everyone, fairly new for raising new topic, so apologies to Admin if this is in the wrong forum.

Yep, I am giving Isaan and in particular Nakhon Phanom a try. My partner and I lived in Phuket and after selling her business, she returned to her home village about 25 k from town to help run the family decorative stone extraction business. That was at the end of March. I drive up on the motorbike about a week later.

I find village life great and the family are very kind and generous. I am not bored, longing for other farang company or in need of beers with expats. However, sometimes it would be good to have a meet up, a motor bike ride out (with other riders), tailgate party etc. you know the feeling, happy with family life, but with other interests.

So I was wondering, if any events, groups, clubs exist in the area? Both Thai and expat.

I am also thinking about getting back into mountain biking and have thoughts about maybe RC airplanes, perhaps dingy or cat sailing. Any water skiing?

Would be grateful for any information and I am happy to travel if necessary.

All the best

Contradictions, plenty !

Just report back 6 months from now.

Cheers.

Well swissie

Thank you for the free Psychoanalysis.

Not the response I was hoping for, I was taking the positive approach to prepare for all times ahead. And wanted to pursue some hobbies new and old.

I hope for more positive responses.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure of the relevance, but 25k from town towards That Phanom.

We have a small group of ex-pats living in the city who go for motor bike runs around the NE normally under 300 km/day. We also meet for a beer twice a week in Thai-owned bars. Various nationalities with 7 different ones turning up one New Year. So the relevance was, if we went south one day, then we could meet up around Ban Klang which is approximately 25 km from NKP.

None of us have BIG bikes, but if you're interested in Harley-type rides, then I believe there is a Thai group within the city and a bigger one based around Sakhon Nakhon.

Hi Riepan

Thanks for responding, I would like to meet up for a ride and or a beer.

I am unsure how to send you a private message with my details. So if you let me know you next ride or meeting place and directions or Gps coords, then I will see you there.

All the best.
