Euthanasia revisited

Featured Replies

This hassurely been discussed before but its been a whlie back but as things change its good to have the latest.

I put this up in an other VT forum this AM but that forum*, I now realise was not the right spot.

Here's what I know and assume about Thai and euthanasia methods and regulations in Thai:

There is info on the net about methods and substance (applies anywhere)

Supply is supposedly local then shipped abroad (does not work for me, being local I don't need to do this)

I'm looking for information of certain aspects of euthanasia, preferably from a VT member.

Having said that:

The subject matter could well be a minefield if dealt publicly on this forum.

I've been a good member of TV for several years.

I guess my best hopes resides in getting infor from long living VT members in Thai.

if members are well versed in the subject and feels like sharing info, I may be contatcted from this post but also foom PM.

Hope to hear from you soon

I'm dead against it. Me and the wife have this chat every six months or so and we always agree we'd rather cherish every second of life together unless the suffering was too great. Knowing my luck as soon as I'd drunk the barbs a doctor would rush in saying they'd found a cure....

'unless the suffering was too great.'

exactly the reason

at some point this may become a reality

why not be prepared?

There is no hospice here in LOS, as I researched it quite thoroughly on my father's behalf while I was care giving him here and found with great frustration that the Thai medical system as well as Thai culture believing that we are put here on this world to suffer...............sorry, but seeing my father's suffering near his 'end' was not a pretty sight and it made me feel helpless to not be able to get any stronger meds than 10mg timed release morphine to ease his pains.

It seems that if you want stronger meds, you have to cross the border to get them.

cross the border stay there and take them you mean?

how could you possibly expect to import them if they are not available in LOS

Unlike refusing life support and so on, which is fine, euthanasia is completely illegal in Thailand, as is aiding and abetting it in any way.

A post discussing illegal drugs has been removed.

thread closed.
