I've also used the Canon shop in Central Festival for (lens) repairs.

That works as well. However they sent the cameras and lenses to the Phuket town service center to be fixed. Therefore it might be faster to take the camera directly to the town.

I was impressed of the Canon warranty and how well their after sales support works in Thailand. I had a lens failure on my bridge camera and took it to the service center, while it was still on warranty.

They took the camera in. Found out the problem and told me that they need to change the whole lens system inside. Free of charge. The repair took a bit longer as they had to get some parts from Bangkok, but overall experience was good.
