Can not get any information regarding these tablets, you need to register in order to get information, I have been given these huge tablets by the Pharmacist.

I discovered what seemed to be a burn on my neck 4 days ago, since then I have felt very rough, very sore face and head(right side only, slight sore throat and slight earache again right side only, glands in my neck feel swollen, generally feeling down, any information on these tablets?

According to MIMS Thailand, it is an antibiotic (Amoxicillin).

Better have this properly diagnosed; it seems more like herpes zoster (Shingles) than just a skin infection.

There are no blisters and no rash it is just very tender, it almost feels at the moment like a very mild glandular fever, as I stated it seemed to start with what looked like a small burn on my neck, I will take the course of tablets I have been given and see if it sorts it!

Be aware that registration is open to patients/other on the MIMS website as there last option - no negative although you may receive medical messages but easy to opt-out. It is a very useful site for those living in Thailand.

If it is glandular fever Amoxicillin is contraindicated.

Always wise to seek medical advice !

I didn't say it was glandular fever I said it felt as if it was a mild case of it, feeling better after taking one of the tablets so hopefully the pharmacist has been spot on!

Very pleased with my local Pharmacist, feeling great after 2 days on the tablets she gave me, saved me a small fortune which I would have had to pay at the hospital!

Actually it does not cost a fortune to obtain medical treatment at a hospital here - you can pay high (1-2k) at a few places but even then it is hardly a fortune for most - a normal hospital visit would likely not be more than 300-1000 baht and you can always obtain any medications at outside source if you prefer.

Yes that is true, my local pharmacy is just down the road, I feel confident going to her for minor things!
