PATTAYA: -- Following the theft of money from a stand-alone SCB ATM on the Sukhumvit Road in Jomtien early on Monday Morning, Forensic Police and other Police Investigators began the investigation into the theft of an amount thought to be in excess of 2 Million Baht.

Nongprue Police have taken over the investigation and gathered at the ATM, situated in front of the S-Con Concrete Company, on Tuesday morning.

It soon became apparent that Police were dealing with a group of professionals who knew exactly how to break-into the machine and also knew where the high denomination notes were kept.

Khun Anan aged 40, works for the Security Company used by the SCB Bank to fill ATM’s around Thailand and he confirmed the machine was filled with 3.5 Million Baht on 23rd April. 5 boxes of various bank notes were placed inside the machine and the suspects took the 2 boxes containing the 1,000 Baht notes.

Although the bank are not willing to confirm the exact amount of money taken, it is thought to be in excess of 2 Million Baht.

Huh? Where does the report mention .... well, anything you have written???

'It soon became apparent that Police were dealing with a group of professionals'....police bigging themselves up once again

Of course they were professionals, from the original article it was a very slick operation, that's why i think the police have zero hope of catching them.

The police can be remarkably effective when they want to be. whistling.gif

"The police said that the robbers must have been professionals as they knew where the high value notes were kept".

Hardly a clue that they were professional as the three boxes are in a stack clearly marked in large letters, B1,000, B500 and B100!

are the thieves thai or farong?????????????????????

What is a 'farong'?

i guess he meant faggot.

A "Farong" is someone who gets caught......or......robs an empty ATM....

Obviously if these are not Thai......they were ....."Farights"
