Hi,

Do i pay only this much for beer at these bars ? or they will charge any fee extra ? I just want to sit in the bar or gogo bar and spend 1-2 hours drinking 1-2 beer . I just want to sit and drink . Pls. tell me , I heard that they give hefty bills .I am going pattaya second time, first time i could not spare time as it was just a day trip.

Thanks

Can only advise of recent Boozers I've frequented in those areas

Soi 7 Minny Bar 50 Baht Tiger

Soi 7 Aussie Bar 50 Baht Tiger (happy hours) 70 Baht regular

Soi 7 eagle still 50 Baht Tiger as well

Soi 8 Sailor Bar 55 Tiger

Soi 8 bottom Mirror Bar 60 happy hour 85 normal Tiger

Soi 8 We are the World Bar 50 Baht Tiger happy hours 55 regular

Soi 6 Spider Girl Bar 85 Tiger

Soi 6 Saigon Girls 70 Baht Tiger

Soi 6 Ruby Bar 90 Baht Tiger

Many of New Plaza averaging 50 Baht Tiger and plenty in SB areas likewise

Stay away from the Russian Go-Go bars on Walking Street then. San Miguel Light is 300 baht. If you stay 15 minutes, minimum is 500 baht. If you stay 30 minutes, minimum becomes 1,000 baht. This is just for your first original beer. They obviously are not looking for repeat business, but the quick buck.

Prices are all over the place.

Bottled beers start at 50 baht in a BB to 155 in a Go-Go.

But even some beer bars have high drink prices, 80-90 being common.

I really think the GGB are pricing themselves out of the current market, particularly on the Walking street.

Draft is often cheap but it doesn't suit me.

Carry in a flask, take a few swigs in the bathroom now and then.

Good advice.

By the time a few baht here or there makes a difference the punter would be so drunk that getting home safely should be his primary concern.

Its crazy how much some bars want for a small beer....... Here in Germany i pay in a normal Beer Bar 1,80 € for a 0,5L beer. Thats about 75 Baht for a "Big Beer". Thailand is a 3rd world country and charge (in some bars) 70-90 Baht for a small one !!!! crazy how the time change the prices........

If the Thai's were ever to discover just how good the beer is in England there would be boat loads of them landing as illegal immigrants on its beaches

RH, Maybe you got more Baht for your Euros last time you visited Pattaya. The exchange rate is not as good as 7 or 8 years ago. Do not forget - you get to see many beautiful girls in the bars in Pattaya . For free. Unless.......

Yes but the exchange rate has nothing to do with the Beer price in Thailand. Before 3 years i got a chang in Soi 6 for 60 Baht now they charge 80-90. Thats have nothing to do with the exchange from euro to baht.

With the sexy girls, youre right :-P

I don't drink coffee at night.

Do you have anything to add to the original question?

Then don't order it, pal. Coffee may or may not be cheaper than beer anyway--at the bar. Sorted! smile.png

To my reply you mean. Well, only that the savings will vary according to flask contents. Most of our posters in the thread will probably not be filling their flasks with Macallan but rather Sangsom or Mekhong. The truly thrifty may just as well go whole hawg for Lao Khao. In the latter case, cost per drink has been reduced from a minimum of 45 baht (but usually more) to maybe 3 baht. And then the 45 baht beer at the bar can be sipped a lot more slowly, too, so fewer need be purchased there.

the cheap charlies have been sitting on beach road in the evenings opposite soi 8 on their beach chairs for years. They buy beer at the 7-11, sit there and drink listening to the music from the bar on the corner of soi 8. I agree with the poster who said, "if you are concerned about beer prices...stay home...I mean stay home in your own country. whinning about 10-30 baht difference in a price of beer is just stupid. Too many cheap ass people just taking up space and whinning.

On beach road there is a nice bar with live music and bear is around 60-70.

That's disgusting and a bear could kill you with one swipe if you're not careful.

Big spenders in here tonight arguing the toss over 55 baht beer or the mind-boggling price of 80. Or throw caution to the wind and shell out a whopping 150 baht for a cold one.

I'm willing to accept 250+ baht a drink to avoid half of you lot. The higher charge keeps most of the riffraff away.

Bet you're a bundle of joy out on the lash.............

What draws that conclusion? I am a generous individual and you won't find me bemoaning the price of a beer. I prefer to spend my time socialising.

Am I not allowed to avoid falangs that worry about a +/- 5 baht difference in the price of a beer.

Drink at home if it's that important.

Of course you are. You are "generous" but not enough to buy a cheap-Charlie a drink or even sit at the same table, is that it? Not all of us have tourist incomes and inflation is a real concern.

So go drink in Bali Hai with the 300B beers and "quality" Russian hostesses. Someone has to do it.

"Booze Lounge" Soi Bukhao, aircon bar, all day Chang & Leo 45 ThB, free pool, some waitresses are serving in bikini.

The usual precise TV poster directions to the place.

Point in question was the fact that you wanted a 180 Baht differential to avoid the Peasants and Serfs...........

I`ve been past it, the name did make me chuckle, I`ll likely go in for a beer sometime.

Thought Pattaya was still reasonable on a recent trip (first one for a while); Bangkok on the other hand seems to have gone through the roof - the Persian ('arab') bars on Soi Cowboy being a case in point.

must have dropped in price since march..

1 paid 80 i think for SML..79 FOR SAMSONG /COKE

they have a banner advertising Chang and Leo for 45baht across the front of bar , it's a little up from from Pook Bar if going North on the right, well it is slow season, why maybe for the price change...
